Roof sealer on Avion C-11

The Avion C-11 came with a silver coating on the roof. It is cracking and most of it has already come off. I have found the Heng's Aluminum ALKYD Fibered Roof Coating. Is that the best coating to use?

That is an interesting question and will be interested in the replies . I'm not sure if that was the original brand , there are several . Back in the day it was commonly used on Mobile Home roofs . Don't know why it was used on a C-11 since it is on a solid piece of aluminum , perhaps for sound deadening .

Snow Roof

Hello... We used Snow Roof on both of our Argosys and would highly recommend it... Ace Hardware...

Dr. Don Gradeless, THE Avion guru (he is The Inland Andy of Avion) recommends Kool-Seal. You can get it in original white or aluminum silver. I used it on my 34 footer and it works great. I used white because I painted my roof white (cut the interior temp 10 degrees F) but you can use silver if you want to leave the roof silver. It's good stuff. Not too pricey either.

see ya on the road,

We use silver Kool-Seal on ours.

Kool Seal is a default choice. But how long it lasts (on a trailer or other that lasts decades) is the problem.

I called Cayo and they told me that the Heng's Aluminum Alkyd Fibered Roof Coating is as close to the original as possible. My problem is that is what I ordered from RV Surplus and they sent me Plas-T-Cote Aluminum Alkyd Fibered Roof Coating. Does anyone know if that is the equivalent material?
