I have those overly-expensive Crane toilets in my 1952 house bought last year. And some bathroom sinks that, bought now, are prohibitively expensive. This blog, and others, has some nice leads just on colors, fabrics and materials. Had I a trailer of this age I would be having fun with this. One word of caution: glaring colors AREN'T the answer, the well-done homes of the era (as in any other) still had subtlety involved in complementary shades, it's just that those shades were often in unusual materials or fabrics. Ten years later -- or less -- these were often lost. The colors aren't for everyone: our house featured rose-colored brick and dark grey siding. BUT, the window frames and sashes on the exterior were repainted in a way that ruined the effect. And, then the last owner just sprayed the whole thing primer grey.
Hope you old trailer aficionadoes find some old airliner, passenger liner or rail car pics to work from.
