Remove rust spots

Hey all,
I have a 1973ish Streamline with the anodized aluminum skin. I've been told to use WD40 to clean it. Do you think WD40 will remove the rust spots? See picture. There's two near the vent hood fan. Not at all sure what they are from. Thanks!

We had a thread on cleaning anodized in Vintage Kin. I'd work from there.

WD40 is not advertised as a rust remover. But you could always try it and see if it works. Either way it will do no damage.
