These are on the tongue of my 66 Silver Streak that I'm working on. I think it may have something to do with the breaks. One wire is cut on the unit mounted in the frame and sparks when I touch the ends together. Then theres that big round oval that is flat in the front.
Anyhow, anybody???

I'm pretty sure the thing centered in the 1st photo is an old breakaway switch (as Jim said) that's missing some parts.

The thing centered in the 2nd photo looks like it might be the remains of some sort of built-in level indicator, if the 2 channels cut in it once held bubble tubes. It looks a bit heavy-duty for a level, though.

Yes, old stile bubble level that was a common item in the 60's to mid 80's for the round item. Remove it and toss it and get stick on ones from today.

The wired item is the break away switch for the electric brakes. Also time for a replacement, which probably should be moved to the outside of the frame so it has a better chance to have the pull wire work right and not get tangled with other items.

Level

Try this for the level and the other item is the breakaway switch for the trailer brakes. Reese 52000 Level All Crane Level | eBay The breakaway switch apparently has a short in it (or the electric brakes were energized) and that is why the wire was cut (to unlock the trailers brakes). That is why when the wires are touched together you get sparks! As you can see the level is almost always on eBay. Hope this helps, Ed
