Thanks, Paula.

That is a TT one could consider full-timing with, IMO. Not just as a vacation TT (as with the usual run of smaller Scamp or Casita).

Would have been better to have fully independent suspension (torsion flex). This is the single omission I can see.

Will look forward to more detail (and specs) as it becomes available.

Very good looking in all ways!

Seems to me this is what every AIRSTREAM'r has asked for.
  • Double Fiberglass Core with Accoustic Insulation
  • All Composite Construction
  • Aerodynamic
  • Self-Contained
  • Lightweight
  • Luxury Class
  • Extra Storage Capacity
  • Technologically Advanced
  • Fully Insulated
  • Low Maintenance Aluminum Frame
  • 1 Minute Set-Up Time
  • Full Custom Molded Interior & Exterior Shell
Here is a video of a used one.

We looked at these diminutive plastic (cabinets, countertops, windows, shell in and out) trailers when shopping for our first trailer. Felt like being inside a white plastic mayonnaise jar, a small one, with tiny windows to peer out of. The bed is a dinette conversion. A long list of gadgets.

In a league with Casita and Scamp (and that's not a bad league to be in for small trailers), but hardly an Airstream.

I called the factory 800 number. They're ramping up to make a 22 foot two axle model. The smaller 17's will be restarted later.

My guess is that they want to fill a niche that Casita and the other "eggs" don't - as the largest of them seem to be 17 feet. Everything inside and out seems to be designed for long life, low maintenance and easy cleanup. I can't see what the floor is made of - looks like marmoleum is a possibility, but the one picture shows a simple carpet runner that could easily be discarded and replaced when it gets worn. The leaf spring axles? They do seem to have higher ground clearance and the tank capacity for white and gray water would definitely allow for some serious boondocking.

Did you notice 4 batteries on the slide out tray? Now that is a good idea - easy to check and maintain. Compared to the battery setup on the Classics or even the lower trims, this is just an obvious improvement.

I wonder what is standard and what is optional. Solar? The awning? The dome antenna?

" . . The leaf spring axles? They do seem to have higher ground clearance"

Possibly. But, they have less overall wheel travel and less resistance to tripping hazards. Not good.

I-S is a distinct benefit for all aspects of road performance. And easier for smaller TV's to handle the TT as a result. Tandem axle is great, no question.

The battery tray is a monster!! (Good and bad). What is offsetting that weight on the opposite side of the TT (is the question)? Tire loads on either axle end need to be known.

Thumbs up

Yeah but it's not silver shiny....

Maybe if they formed it out of one big aluminum panel

I think this is fantastic - glad to see that a company who is putting quality first is making another go at it.

Not sure there's enough windows for me. Also not sure this is all that light - the smaller Olivers weren't. And the glossy inside isn't my thing.

But the floorplan looks good - a king bed! - and it should be durable.

The inside reminds me of a boat. Looks like it should last forever. I kinda like it too, except for the non-shiny factor.

When the 22' was originally offered in 2009 just before they quit manufacturing I ordered one. My total cost at that time was over 45K and I didn't come close to having all the options. Despite the fact that I'd given them a 50% deposit they ended up cancelling my trailer - but that's another story. If they were that much 4 years ago what will they be now? Although I have good reason to I don't wish Oliver any bad luck but I just can't see people lining up to buy one of these at the price they will undoubtedly be selling for. But they are nice trailers. And fiberglass doesn't get filiform corrosion!

Fiberglass does not rot like the floors in our trailers do.

Fiberglass does crack and chalk with age.

Fiberglass is for boats, Aluminum is for Airstreams and airplanes.

Funny!

Not without issues of their own I am sure.

Weight, fiberglass is going to be heavier by volume, and I noticed on their specs, they don't give any weights, not dry or wet nor even the tongue weight. And fiberglass will crack.

Mayonnaise jar vs. beer can? I've owned and enjoyed both Casita and Airstream. Same appliances, countertops, axles, etc. Actually, Casita offered the high lift Dexter axles, which many of us wish that Airstream would do. Casita had easier (glass) windows to open and close. The dinette support was sturdier. The fiberglass shell was easy to maintain to a high gloss. Had there been larger sizes in Casita or Oliver, I'd own one today. I wish Oliver well. Competition is good.

Looks like it has a wet bath, I hate wet baths, everything gets soaked when you take a shower.
