Hello All: Thanks for having such a great site. I was just googling the
other week and found a few questions regarding the Travelux trailers.
My father was the initiator of the travelux as a streamline trailer. I still
have his scale model (45" x 14" x14.5"). I will be attempting to put together a
company ( short ) history along with what I know of the models. Dad passed
away in 1979 so unfortunately I can't ask him all the questions I now have.
Thanks to Doug1939 for his posting, you filled in the Gap on the Aurora plant.
I welcome any info on these, where they are now, serials etc. I have some original company info, photo's and worked as a kid for a couple of weeks in the one Toronto plant. I've looked at what I think my project will be (1967)
but have also decided to try and track down dads 29'. Happy trailering.
There was a large unit for sale in Langley, at Tedco RV, where it was on consignment from the Preston family (of Preston Chev Old's in Langley), about two or three years ago now. It appeared to be in beautiful shape. The folks at Tedco would possibly be able to provide more info. The founder/owner of Preston passed away about a year ago and the car dealership was sold but they may be able to put you in touch with the family if you don't have any success with Tedco.
There is also a small unit, Bambi II sized, that comes to various hot rod shows. It's been nicely restored. I believe the folks live in Richmond but don't know anything else about them. There was also a very abused one for sale just east of Mission, again a larger unit, but it was in brutal shape. It disappeared a couple of years ago, and just the past weekend we heard that there's another one in the Chilliwack/Harrison Hot Springs area and we were wondering if it is the Preston unit or another one.

Roger,
I just bought a 1952 Travelux. This is a canned-ham style unit but I had not found any history on this rig. I wonder if it is an early unit or just a 50's name local built trailer. Pretty good condition, all plain unpainted aluminum, single axle about 16-17 foot t/l.
Good luck on your project!
Stream Safe,

Many years ago my day had an Rv trailer sales business down near Windsor Ont. He sold Mallard, Holiday Rambler and Apache imported from the States and Fleetline from Canada.
My dad was an Airstream fan and always wanted one but we never had one on our lot. I believe he may have considered selling your Dad's line at one time. My Dad has gone too so no way to get any history.

Hello Dennis;
I think dad was both but not a certified engineer.
In about 1964/65 he started B&R Trailers and built a couple. He also did repairs and customizing.
They were pretty much like the Terry or Glendettes of the day.
When the property deal fell through at the last minute we were without house or shop. Next thing Dad was working in Aurora Ont. building trailers
for anew company (now believed to be Caravel Coach). Trailers were
similar to the ones he had built. I remember the first aluminum streamliners being built in Toronto at 15 Jutland Rd. As soon as I get a digital camera I'll
post some pictures. Regards Roger.

I'm told this is a California built unit.

Hello Bob;
Check out the 1963 Silver Streak on the Atlas Mobile Home Directory site. I believe they were made in California. Good luck in the hunt for its true
identity.
Regards, Roger.
