If that happens you could just turn on a fan to increase circulation.

I'm really impressed with all the modern stuff built in. My Caravel doesn't have all the stuff this new Shasta does. I wish they had one of the 19s to show off.

I feel the same way about the A\C location. I asked the dealer about a special order. I wanted the A\C put in a higher spot and the frig. moved to the other side. It was a no go. I may still move the A\C after I getting the trailer.

For those of you who ordered one.

What was the time frame stated for delivery ?

I notice that some things on this prototype trailer are not yet made,Windows

for example.

Just curious how long it will take to actually get a trailer.

I was told sometime in October.
If anyone else out there wants one you better find reputable dealer ASAP and lock one down. The price gouging has started on the west coast already. One dealer is charging 23,800.00 for a 19 foot model.
Go to the bottom of the artical to the Comments section and click on older comments looks for a post by Shannon on Aug 11 and tell me if you think there is some double talk going on.

Great concept and implementation. I wonder if Airstream will copy the idea and come out with a new retro '60s Bambi?

I agree with Stefrobrts. A small fan will take care of the A/C distribution in a small trailer. Suggestion: convert the 110v plugs to the combo 110v with USB port. There are several nice, quiet USB operated fans that could plug in -- as well as your smart phone / iPad / etc. Dual use is a Wally approved thang.

Enjoy -- they look really cool.

This Shasta is making waves in the RV world. Airstream needs to make a retro trailer.

We are seriously considering buying one, and have requested info. This hits a sweet spot in so many ways - size, weight, retro appearance, and price. The current wave of interest in camping (notice how every other commercial on TV right now shows people camping, and usually with some vintage angle) will cause these to be snapped up. Airstream could/would not do this and sacrifice the production capacity, and the interruption of the core business is why this is a limited edition product. The story about how the entire shop and suppliers came together to make this a reality is the best part of the deal.

Well, we haven't seen one, don't have an exact price, and don't have a delivery date, but we just put a deposit on a 19' version in red. Crazy. Probably get it in early spring, but our deposit is refundable if we don't like it. Here's the new brochure just released-

Cool! Are you going to give up the Bambi for it, or just alternate weekends out

Now what?

We have no idea. If we like the Shasta that much better, we'll probably sell the 'Stream. More likely is that we just started a collection.

Outstanding Addition!

This is one cool little trailer, and I am JEALOUS of you guys that are buying them!

I wish I had the jack available to get one to supplement my fleet of one. I've got the 36' Whale....it'd be nice to have the little dude to go to state parks.

I wonder if my 2500 Ram Cummins Turbo Diesel 4-door long bed could pull this

Really though, it's a great little trailer and I'd love to have one. Kudos to you all that can add one to your fleet!

See ya on the road,

There are no specs on the 19' -only a floorplan. They will build 1941 units total, in a combo of the two sizes until the 1941 number is hit.

Working with DeHaan RV in Elkhorn WI.

I just read on the Shasta facebook page as of today all but 100 of the 1941 units have been spoken for by dealers. That is a mix of sold and inventory units so not all have been sold retail yet but I bet it will not be long. I see some of the dealers have removed the special preorder price from there web sites.

Here is a link to a dealer that has more pictures of the 16 foot trailers they have at the big RV show this week.

As of last week 1500 have been pre-ordered. After this weeks Dealer RV show I've been told that they will all be spoken for. I'm near the top of the list with Mt Comfort RV so I'm hoping to have our new Shasta in a few weeks from now.
