Thumbs up Just my Personal Feelings

I'm giving you at Airstream Forums a thumbs up. I am a new member after just purchasing a 1966 Streamline 19' Prince. I was looking for information on and about this trailer and strangely enough, there isn't much out there, so I looked on the Airstream website and saw that you welcome Vintage Kin.

I guess times are changing. There was a time that all Harley Davidson owners looked down on other bikers, even if you were driving an Indian. Most all bikers seem to accept each other now with respect and often a thumbs up across the lines.

My personal feelings about that is: With vintage trailers, they're each an American Icon and whether it be a Silver Bullet or a Canned Ham, there's much to give me pleasure just seeing them on the road. A few years back, I traveled from Tennessee to Alaska with a friend when he purchased a 1985 Airstream Motorhome. What a joy to get the positive remarks from folks driving a half million dollar land yacht when we stopped at rest areas in our 20K classic.

I also own and drive a '38 Ford Streetrod. There are those who look down on anything that is not/was not left in it's original form, but upgrading the running gear, to me, is an improvement. I've owned others with a stock engine and "push & pray" breaks; they can be a nightmare on the highways. As for me, I like all vintage tin, and appreciate you excepting me as a Vintage Kin.

I sold my '56 Ford Fairlane Club Sedan to purchase this Streamline and hope to also buy a vintage truck to tow it with. Who knows, maybe it will be a streetrod truck. There are things to say about comfort and safety (A/C, power to go, steer, and stop, etc.)

These are just my personal feelings, but thanks for the welcome; God Bless and I hope to see you on the road, Bill

PS: I tired to publish a picture or two by clicking "Manage Attachments" but it doesn't seem to be working for me. Could it be that Manage attachments does not like the vintage kin?

Even though I drive a 1950 Studebaker that is an AACA Senior I still love to see a well built restorod. I would hate to pull my Overlander with my Champion.

Uhhhhh oh. This exact trailer just showed up on the Seattle/Tacoma craigslist. Is it spam? Let us know and we will flag it, if not, are you reselling or did sale fall thru?

Why would a guy in Alaska have a trailer with Washington plates? I smell something fishy here and it isn't salmon.

Good eye Reinergirl and Aftermath. No, it is not a spam. I am the buyer and if you call the number on Craig's List today, you will see that it is no longer for sale and the girl I bought it from hopefully will tell you, "Sorry it's been sold".

I don't even have pictures of my own because I have not even set foot in it. I had it checked out by my nephew who also lives in Puyallup and knows trailers pretty well. The owner and I cut a deal over the phone and it is now mine and my wife's. It will be moving to my place in Elma Washington very shortly where I spend a part of my year.

When I get to Washington this summer, it will have Alaska plates on it, because I am registering it in Alaska with personalised plates. It costs too much to register anything in Washington I found out when I put Washington plates and tags on my '56 Ford. (Which by the way, I sold to purchase this trailer.)

Hope this straightens out any questions that it does or does not belongs to me but whatever your final opinion is, I am going to enjoy it as much as I possible can. My wife and I are both retired and one thing we enjoy doing together is camping. In fact we just finished a 15,100 mile road trip across the US and Canada this past summer as a retirement trip for her. My retirement was in 2002 and that trip was through BC and 38 states in our (then new) Alaskan Camper but as we got older, we decided that "camper" camping is not for us. She has bad knees and we are both the wrong size for a camper. After that we bought a '86 Winnebago and just passed that on to our oldest son so he and his wife could enjoy some camping.

Happy Camping, Bill

Howdy, Bill!

Lots of the spamming going on...if your trailer is ever stolen or spammers misuse pics of it, folks here will be all over it...hope that give you some peace of mind...

Is that a third, center, high mounted brake light? Or is it just one big running light?
Everybody thought the third brake light came in 1986...

That's good news! I was just worried because people on craiglist will "borrow" pictures of things they don't own and try to rip people off.

Enjoy your new camper!
