Hi--Avions are nice trailers. When I went looking to buy a "vintage" trailer all I considered were Airstreams, and Avions. I only ever got to see one Avion, as there just aren't as many of them out there, as there are Airstreams, so I bought an Airstream, and never looked back.--Frank S

If you're looking for a Silver Streak...

I know where one is sitting semi-abandoned on a farm on the Eastern Shore of Virginia.

Looks like a BIG job, but should be able to get it cheap.

Paula,

If DarkStar isn't interested in this particular trailer you're discussing, I might be. I'm within driving distance of that location. What length is this Silver Streak? Is the body in decent condition?

Ah Streamline. Now there's the brand I really think looks sharp. I've never actually seen a real one, but I've got several books on aluminum trailers and I really think the ones in there look sharp.

I've heard you cannot polish a Silver Streak due to the type of aluminum used. Dont' know if it's true though.

The Streamlines in my book looked like chrome, and they were polished all over. They didn't seem as square as the "square streams" (I looked at an '89 and didn't like it) but were boxed out a little more than my Excella. All in all, a very sharp unit. If I were closer, I'd come take a look. As it is, not this one

How about an Avion?

One of our friends just bought a 79 Avion and it is just gorgeous inside. The cabinets are so nice. It is the roomiest trailer I've seen and now I'm looking for one! Won't get rid of my Airstream though.

When this Avion pulled along side me at a rest stop, I couldn't wait to look at what I thought was an Airstream. Avion owner couldn't wait to look at our Airstream. We both enjoyed and appreciated each other's pride and joy.

Avion and Silver Streak were both high quality products, equal if not better then Airstream. Unfortunately the market determined that there wasn't enough demand for a multitude of brands.
