Have you used a Stream Team?

We have had our trailer (1984 Sovereign, Rear bath, middle twins) for 6 months or so and have been having a ball. But it "IS" 27 years old and we have never owned an Airstream before, so am I focused on fixing the right things? And when I fix something, am I doing it right?

Forums to the rescue, I see a neighbor (same city) on the forums and with a quick pm, ask if he would be willing to do a walkthru. Not only did he say yes, but he called another Corpus resident and they both showed up today.

We talked hitches, sway bars, clear-coat, sealing around the windows, tires and wheels and axles and brakes, painting, air-conditioning unit and more..I took numerous notes and now have a pretty good idea of what my priorities need to be. I also got confirmation that our Old Guy is in pretty good shape for his age.

Thanks so much Ross and Bob. Pretty nice to have a Stream Team show up with no agenda other than to provide wisdom and offers to assist.

Gotta luv the Forums...

It is an awesome community indeed! That kind of help is seldom found these days. It is great to hear that two of the experts have helped you out!

Yes, it was fun, Chuck, thanks for the invite. While a brand-new trailer is always good for oohs and aahs, there is nothing quite like a veteran with some scars to try and figure what the PO[s] have done. Much, much more interesting. Everything has been shaken out . . now we can see what it is made of.

Helped that temperatures were good enough to be out in direct sunlight for a few hours.

And, with the three of us, there were at least ten or so "solutions" per problem floating around at any given moment. Spending the other guys time and money is always fun.

Your trailer both Bob and I thought was far better looking than any 27-yr old trailer has a right to be.

Contact me again and I'd be glad to be of help on any of the things you were concerned over. Like everyone, I get tired of my own projects and being a third hand on someone elses is a welcome break.

Ross

Yes, I agree, your trailer looks mighty good. I mentioned that we put the batteries in a central box inside the trailer. You can see our solution here: a460007 - Photo Gallery It was fun. Thanks for the invite. Bob T.
