Front kitchen trailer

I've been looking at the Avions and noticed they use to make a 32s, which has the kitchen in the front of the trailer, sofa in the middle, and bedroom in the rear. Looks like a great floor plan to me. There must be some drawbacks though, otherwise I imagine more trailers would be built with this layout. But what are they?

Avion 32S

I used to Own an Avion 32S.

They are excellent,great layout.I miss it,although I Prefer a Larger trailer...

the later airstream front kitchen models were very heavy and had a high tongue weight.

the AVION 32S Is not heavy and has a tongue weight of only 730 LBS.

The only problem is they are VERY hard to find.... : )

Sounds like you like the front kitchen layout better than the middle kitchen design. There are a couple 32s I'm looking at, but the exterior on both have some spots where the finish is inconsistent. Being anodized, is there anything that can be done?

I've also found a 30R that has a great exterior thar has been clearcoated and waxed yearly. Just wish it had the front kitchen. I see no reason why the interior couldn't be reconfigured, but it of course is missing the extra large window common to the 32s.

Font Kitchen Layout

I have two trailers with the Front Kitchen Layout:

1954 Airstream Safari
&
1948 Curtis Wright Model 5

We love them both!

All Cutris Wright Model 5's were designed that way, along with 1954-1956 Airstream Safari's

StevieB
