That's what I was basing it on. Our old home telephone was
FL[eetwood]2-0256 until
1962.
West Davis is in Oak Cliff, a town annexed by Dallas ca. 1906. Rolling and wooded unlike cotton-farming land around downtown across the Trinity River (linked by what was once the world's longest reinforced concrete span bridge). The freeway system just being built -- in the years past the JFK assassination -- pulled many of these smaller businesses farther and farther away from downtown and near-downtown. West Davis became derelict before many more years. (Still is, IMO).
Bonnie & Clyde were from this area, (part of which was known as West Dallas) thirty years previous to this era.
I can't help but think someone borrowed a handy stencil to have that ashtray printed. The AVION dealer 20-years later was quite some miles north in Lewisville 20-years later (and the Silver Streak Dallas dealer -- Hiltop -- was south of downtown a good ways, in Waxahachie.)
