We put in an Atwood 15,000 and it is so quiet you don't have to turn up the volume to hear the tv. And it cools the Avion 30 with little effort. Highly recommend.

Ditto on the Atwood! Add the benefit of the heat pump & auto temp control! The Old duo Therm was a hard running machine that did a great job for 30 years (fan motor bearings gave out). '86 34V so easy air flow. With a 34X or W it would be hard for any a/c to get thru. Seems 2 units would be needed.

We have a thirteen five in our thirty footer, use a fan to circulate air. Plenty cool just needs sone help. Two acs in a thirty four would be okay, especially how you are planning to use it. I'd get two thirteen fives, your choice. Sounds like things are going great, gonna make my unrestored look plain and old. Have fun.

My brother-in-law put a Atwood 15k in his non-ducted 30' Class C. Very quiet and efficient. Has a remote to control it. Much better than Dometic in my opinion.

Too bad they don't make a low profile model with a wall thermostat. They are developed in Australia.

pitchers?

don't you love that roof maintenance and how about the curtains. Not to mention the quiet good taste of the original and replacement floors.

I have PICTURES but

Frank sent me a bunch of pictures of the Avion - via e-mail. And I picked it up. It looks better in person!

After 2 days on the road, I may be brain dead... I know my shoulders ache, (Nothing like clutching the wheel in 2 20 minute ordeals going over the Francis Scott Key Bridge in Baltimore and the the Potomac River Bridge on Route 301 on the MD/VA border - the second one still has me tasting vomit in the back of my throat. (It's about 1.95 lanes wide! and it's a rust bucket.)

Anyway I have failed three times to get the pictures uploaded - so will someone take mercy on me and let me just e-mail Frank's e-mail to you to post the pictures? Send me a PM with your e-mail address.

Other than that Mrs. Lincoln how did you enjoy the play...

Gotta say it, the Avion towed BEAUTIFULLY with the GMC 2500 Diesel. Exactly the opposite of the F-150 Ecoboost trip from Ohio to Baltimore.

It's so nice inside I'll have to go to the Fall Alumalina - and bring about 50 white soft scotchbrite pads. See if I can get some friends to help me whitewash the fence by gently cleaning the crud off of the anodyzed surface... Yes - a "Tom Sawyer Party" that's the ticket.

Avion - The Pewter Palace

Blue Beacon can get a good start on the exterior anodized. My 1989 SIlver Streak had a minor layer on it that came off nicely.

I use BB at work quite often. I specify that they "two step" the wash: acid and alkaline. And avoid stickers, etc.

Focus what they can on underside, (especially the radius), wheels and wheel wells. Get the roof to the extent they can.

This is not the hot acid I might use on truck wheels. A layer of water from a high pressure rinse and then the line foreman uses the acid wand. Alkaline soap to neutralize afterwards. Specify the exterior be brushed completely.

If concerned, visit with location manager. These guys are usually great to deal with.

There would be no benefit to avoiding this service. Not if results matter. BB is a first rate operation. What needs work afterwards will be greatly reduced. The layer of pollution fallout will come off to a surprising amount. The top edge radius is what matters.

The RainX shine option may surprise you. Same with tire treatment.

I walked around with a fistful of fives to tip the six line workers at the beginning, and emphasized that this was my baby. Tell them how old it is and what it is. Most are appreciative.

Even with old window seals I only had a few drops inside. I RainX'd the exterior window glass and did some polishing/waxing of other exterior items after BB. As I'd already lubed exterior locks and mechanisms PLUS washed window frame and door entry exteriors the BB wash was the final touch.

Including the wait for other vehicles, I was there about two hours.

On another thread in which I participated (in Vintage Kin) is the recipe from the old SS dealer near Dallas for shining up anodized a few days or weeks with a bit of acetone and olive oil, IIRC. If there's any dirt on the surface it is revealed. Takes a day or three to dry. What the dealership used on brand new factory deliveries.

I use Kleen-Rite Meguiars Detailers Shampoo Plus to wash truck and trailer. A gallon lasts years. An extendable shaft truck wash brush with a soft head (beyond other tools) to apply and sheet rinse off leaves a bit of a shine afterwards. I add some liquid Calgon Water Softener to wash and rinse buckets in a hard water area.

Looking good, well worth the wait. They do tow well. Glad you are happy, have fun. You'll learn to like it even more as you camp. Be patient on the exterior, a mistake could be permanent, as on mine. Some times good enough is better than a blotched job. Be happy!!

Heat gun and putty knife is how I was able to remove that crap from my roof.

NOT to polish but to clean crud

There was a pretty recent thread from a man with vintage kin, who didn't want to polish it - because it was anodized, but he did clean it up a lot. I didn't think to bookmark it, and now I can't find the thread. Anyone (especially the poster) please help me find it. I know he used the soft white scotchbrite pads - but darned if I can relocate the thread.

I have taken my newer Eddie Bauer to Blue Beacon - the first time I got excellent results - at the next location - mediocre at best. They are not all equally well run. And the closest one to me is 175 miles away, not that I wouldn't go there if I were sure it would be good.
