The MOR/ryde "Smooth Glide" is composed of several dozen pieces. The rubber ages/wears; the expectation is about 15-years +/-. That factory still has the rebuild kits (about $750 a few years ago). There are some threads on the Yahoo AVION Owners site about reinforcing the mounts (especially on the longer units).

Water damage is the big scary. Plumbing breaks, roof penetration leaks. Etc. Getting the floor out from an AVION or SS is no small task. To be avoided if possible.

All smooth glide parts are still available thru MOR Mfg. down to the shocks. Should not exceed $500 for everything direct from MOR.

How do you figure the floor is no small task? In the Avion it floats. It is secured to a triple railed underframe...no c channels. As far as the skins:the body of the AVION is two complete aluminum shells, one inside the other, separated by a blanket of 1 1/4” plastic treated fiberglass insulation nd riveted together as one unit on aluminum stretch-formed bows and stringers. You would see any hole that would allow water penetration from the skins.

Finally, plumbing leaks...pre 1968s typically featured rear bath with a full size door and house grade fixtures. Even the toilets were porcelain.
