All in the family, Silver Streak

My wife and I just bought a 61 Silver Streak Luxury Liner that was owned by my grandparents for 40 years. Structurally sound, she just needs a little cosmetic work to get her back in shape.

I put on new tires and wheels and repacked bearings today. Going over to bring her home tomorrow morning.

Will post inside photos tomorrow. Paneling needs replaced. Ceiling is okay. Living room has been gutted. Plan is to put all back close to original.

It has rear bedroom and side bath.

welcome to the forums!
wow...that is a good looking trailer, congrats!
I can't really tell but is that an AC unit? Cant wait to see inside pics...you mentioned that the idea is to restore it as closer to original as possible, how hard it will be to get the parts for it?
Regards

It has the factory ac unit on top and then there is one in the back window too. I have all of the original glass for the back window. That unit will probably be removed first thing...

As far as the rest...

-- rebuild living room to near original appearance
-- rebuild kitchen counter to near original (original range was replaced with a small apartment style gas range at some time and counter/cabinets cut off short.
-- bedroom just needs new floor covering and paneling (and new mattresses of course)
-- all other cabinets ok
-- new paneling and flooring throughout.
-- have not tested bathroom or water systems, but everything is there.
-- rewire all electrical

I have an idea for cleaning/polishing the outside. Will let you know if the product works as well as I anticipate. Have used it on old hubcaps and such and it worked great.

Am not sure what works and what needs repaired/replaced.

Will know soon. Leaving in an hour to pull her home. Only a 60 mile drive, so should be trouble free.

She is home! Towed like a dream. No problems at all.

Attached a few photos below that I took with my phone so please excuse the quality. Will go out with the hood camera and get some better ones tomorrow.

Remember....dont see it for what it is but for what it is going to be!

Been swamped with work so no more photos yet....

Does anybody know how many of the rear bedroom model 32s were made in 1961? Am thinking it was probably quite limited in searching the net...

I'll bet it was a fair rarity. Certainly was in later years when the market was better understood as to popularity via annual sales. Can't guarantee it, but it has always made sense to me.
