What makes this a vintage airstream? I understand the year does, but what changes (interior) can hurt value?
Thanks for info.

Hi Murry,

First, welcome to the forums!

I wouldn't (am not) be concerned with some changes to the interior as long as they are tasteful and not overdone. For overdone, really overdone, see the Magnolia Pearl Airstream. After that, just about anything looks good.

How about some photos, especially the interior. I'd like to see the difference between my Excella and your Limited. There are photos of my interior in the Members Photos section at: Member's Photos - Photo Gallery.

My interior has almost no real wood inside, just lots of fake wood laminate on the cabinet & closet doors. There's definitely room for improvement there. On the bulkheads (interior walls), the news isn't even that good. They are covered with fake wood grain vinyl contact paper. Zoom in above the clock in this photo:

You can see the vinyl peeling back and spots of white glue where the previous owner (PO) tried to glue it back. I don't think fixing that would hurt the value of mine any.

Anyway, put up some photos so we can compare our interiors.

Like vswingfield said just do the remodeling tastefully and you will be alright. On my 83 I bought it gutted and did the interior to suit my wire and I. Do the changes to suit you not anyone else. If you decide to sell the right person will come by and love it.

Howdy and welcome to Airforums, murray!

As well as the items mentioned above, changing out dual-fuel (gas and 120V, say) appliances to 120V only ones is something that will reduce the value.

Also, leaks that have been unattended to will definitely downgrade the value.

Absolutely! Resist the temptation to yield to the dark side.

I replaced my fridge a few years ago. I did switch to a Norcold from the original Dometic. I am very glad that I went with a good, new RV fridge. It has been a great addition. I did use a 120v unit in the living room area temporarily, but it went back to my office after the installation of the new unit.

Another plus at looking at that thread again, another angle of the vinyl over the clock peeling off the bulkhead:

I guess I'm going to have to fix that someday.

This is what Tamara and I did to that same wall. It had the same issue. We used paneling from Lowe's and the plastic trim(white) and put it over the wall.http://www.airforums.com/photos/showimage.php?i=29901&catid=member&imageuser=7593

That's about what I had in mind. One thing that's held me back is the amount of work it would take to do the one by the cooktop. However, I am going to replace that counter-top so will address the issue then.

Yours looks great. I also have a set of the same drawer pulls. More up-to-date in my opinion.
