Veggie,
As bad as it sounds these guys are giving you the right info. I was born and raised in Alabama, and at one time in the auto industry. There is a section in Alabama called BONDO HILL, its on Sand Mountain near Boaz Alabama, There are rebuild, chop Shops all over the place there. These guys run cars through their rebiuld shops and the title through two or three states and then title them in Alabama with a clean title.
Most don't run the vechile up and down the road, only the title.
Good Luck,
Jack

I am very happy for you and for the "whale". I am sure that it is smiling inside. Based on your persistance, I know that it is now in good hands.

If I can help you in any way to get this trailer titled, just let me know.

Dan

Thanks Rednax, It will be a nice project to work with, we were just learning a lot about Airstreams and now it seems like the Avion were built in totally different, so I guess that learning never ends...
Thanks Dan, It will be a great help to figure something out to get it title and thanks for the offer so when the time comes we will take your word and the whale will thank you for it
BTW guys look what we found yesterday when we went to pay for the unit..

Hi Airline.
Thanks for the inquiry.
We got the unit, unfortunately Isaac didn't give us a chance to be fully involved in the resurrection of the beast.
this weekend we were blessed with some great good dry weather and got a lot of pics and set it up to get our hands busy.
We should probably start another thread soon..mmmm the resurrection of the beast...
I like it!

I had similar issue with title...

Hello there. This looks like a great find.

I was in a very similar situation as you. I found a great deal on an '88 32s in Florida. I bought it (sight unseen as I'm in Texas) and had it delivered here. Upon arrival, I was presented with a trailer in horrible condition that should not have even made the trip...and asked to sign the certificate of destruction. What the seller failed to tell me is that the trailer had been in hurricane Earnesto.

Well it was here, and even if I had countless hours of sweat ahead of me, I could see the potential, so I didn't send it back. But alas, what to do about the title.

I accidentally lost and forgot about the CD and instead got a bonded title. Basically an insurance company putting their name behind a title. It cost about $200 and the bonded title automatically turns into a real title in a couple of years. And when I sold the 32s earlier this year, there were no issues with the title.

But, each state has its own independent title agency and they don't check across other states, so there was no knowledge of Florida. I think the only option is to take it out of Florida.

Good luck.

Title Problems

I can't forsee you needing an over regulated liberal state such as Maryland however, if the need presents itself, trust that I will help in any way I can.

These Avions are indeed rare. Two answers for you. Two roof air units, selector switch in bath let's you run one or the other. Slide is electric. Currently doing restoration, upgrade to two sisters of this rig. Generator wiring is a single 30 amp feed as built. For full time it would be advised to convert to 50 amp shore and genny service. Nose cone and bottom compartment doors are fiberglass, and you will have a hard time finding that missing door, they are not very sturdy, have had good luck building them up with extra glass. Might be able to "cast" one from ones I have here....
