1987 Avion 34W: Kimberly wood stove... comments?

I am always looking for off-grid options for my life. As it pertains to our 1987 Avion 34W, I recently saw an Avion for sale that had a small wood stove installed in the front of the trailer. That got me thinking........ and I searched around on the web, eventually coming upon a "Kimberly" wood stove, made by Unforgettable Fire, LLC in Oregon. Unforgettable Fire, LLC | Kimberly™ & Katydid™ Wood Stoves

Let me add here that we already heat our home with a wood stove. Have for years. So I'm very aware of the safety hazards, upkeep, mess, etc. of dealing with a wood stove.

Long story short, I have started thinking about the possibility of eventually installing a Kimberly stove in the Avion for winter camping. I could easily install it and adhere to all of the installation requirements, and at this point I understand that installing one of these would most likely affect the insurability of the trailer. That and the cost of the stove aside, I'd like to know if anyone here has done this? As small as this stove is, I could envision only having it installed when I would want to use it. Otherwise, that space would be available to use in the warmer months.

Looks cool! I am still leaning towards the dickenson marine propane stove.

I just don't want to have to worry about keeping the fire going.
An 8 hr burn is pretty good though!

We heat our home with a BlazeKing
wood stove. Nothing like it!
They are awesome!

I say go for it!

Insurance is also my concern. As well how is one to keep water tanks from freezing? There is a thread on wintering in Alaska in a Streamline where a woodstove is used.

Next is how to keep it fed. What wood source and how transported. Etc. I don't know if it is more trouble than it is worth. One still needs water food etc so having a 250-lb propane tank recharged isn't an obstacle as one is ostensibly on a road where those small tankers can travel. Or I can run the tank to town myself.

The stove linked is sure impressive.

My start to cold weather camping will be snap-on skirting and interior storm windows. I hope the WS questions are clearer over time.

I pulled the trigger on the DickinsonMarine.com - Propane Fireplaces
12000 unit. Should be here in a few days.

Personally, I love it.

There is nothing like wood heat.

I, too, am considering a Kimberley stove for my 16' Airstream. For those that have one, how often do you have to add wood to it? I know it depends upon how cold it is, how long your trailer is, etc. I currently have a Dickinson Newport (came with the trailer) and I have to add wood to it very often.
Thanks!
