Here’s a few pictures of the kitchen. I ordered a brand new fridge from Costco.
I am going to wedge it into the opening with foam hopefully it won’t move around?! I’ve finally finished the plumbing! It went really well until I trued the hot water tank bypass. I had installed the valves before installing the tank. Unfortunately installed them backwards! It was a bit cramped but I was able to switch them around and get it leak free eventually.
I had been pouring water into the fresh water tank with a bucket. I had used original hose but I found it was leaking. A friend had just given me a rv tank kit with a new hose and fittings so I set out to install that. I butchered the old fitting trying to get it off. I eventually drilled to holes through and used a screwdriver…luckily it came off. It would have been nice to have this deck fill re chromed, but there is nowhere locally I could have that done. Instant chrome spray paint it is again. Pretty sure I still had the original can from 10 years ago!
No clear coat this time as it had yellowed over the years.

The plumbing is done! The last piece of the puzzle was the waste tank valves.
I had to rework the aluminum a bit. The new tanks are lower so it was easier to have the plumbing come below the “banana wraps”.
I still have to finish the wraps. I am going to piece it in.

There was no where to charge devices using 12 volts so I installed a small charging port behind the fireplace.

[QUOTE= So i went to bed dreaming about polishing that thing up to a mirror finish. pics.[/QUOTE]
you may have discovered by now that the vast majority of Travelux trailers were never given a spit shine polish. most were the flat matte finish. the high polish shows every....single.....scratch.....and.... dent....
the matte finish does not and is an easier finish to care for. Travelux was thinking when they chose the finish

Just wanted to say I appreciate your posts. I'll never rebuild a trailer, but it's fascinating to see all you have done. Looking forward to the finished result.

Well I can see the light at the end of the tunnel!
I finished the kitchen today.( except I need to find and instal a built in microwave).

I had to build more cabinet doors as well as drawers. Which meant I needed more 2x1 boards.
I’ve bought most of my wood working tools off the buy and sell.
One tool that bought on a whim for around $400 was a delta drum sander. I honestly had not used it since I bought it and I was considering selling it.
I decided to try it out and run my freshly built doors through it. Usually I would just palm sand them to try and flush everything up and look half decent.
Well the drum sander was the ticket!
I think I forgot to take a photo of the finished kitchen. But, I will post the mock up.

I started the bedroom yesterday! Since I had changed the water tank inlet hose and the bed is being framed around the fresh ware tank. I figured I should do another leak test on the water inlet. I poured a couple of buckets in and no leaks! Excellent! I thought I’d check the new waste valves as well. I soon discovered that the black water tank was leaking at the factory fitting. Dang it!
I had removed the hose clamp to spin it to allow for the clearance needed with trailer frame. In doing so I probably caused the issue! I slacked off the fitting and the fitting basically slid right out. However, the plastic was so thin and was even missing chunks! No wonder it leaked. I used an angle grinder to trim about 1/2 “ off the inlet and pulled the old sealant off. I put it back together using sika flex. Let dry overnight and today leak free. Hopefully it stays that way!
