Life on the road... is so interesting. Was travelling with "the boyfriend" who abandoned me in a state park in Arkansas. His truck, my trailer. Now, I'm stuck and looking for friendly suggestions.
Then, trust me, I'll be getting a truck - but, this was supposed to just be a relocation to south Texas.
And, leaving lots of the story out....like his getting detained by the sheriff, and other goodies. Abandoned can mean so many things....
Aft least I still have my sense off humor, and my trailer.

That is crazy. Sorry to hear it. Do you have the hitch or is it still on his truck? Good luck with everything. Look in Little Rock's Craigslist for truck and hitch. Meanwhile try to stay cool. It going to be hot for a few more days.

Yikes! More than anything, I hope you're OK, physically and mentally. Trailers are replaceable. Boyfriends too I guess...
A couple ideas.
Try uship and see if someone can tow it for you a short distance, long distance, whatever.
If you need a hitch (hopefully you don't) we got ours off craigslist. Here's one:
Weight Distribution Hitch System
Rent a uhaul truck. The big ones will easily tow your trailer.
Post an ad on craigslist looking for help towing a trailer.
Buy a cheap truck off craigslist. Put it on your credit card if you have to, sell it when you can.
I'm not sure what your financial situation is, but maybe those will spur some ideas.
Good luck!

Maiden voyage "crisis" completion report.
So much to say...made it back to Indianapolis. Can't say enough good things about the people in and around Crater of Diamonds State Park, Murfreesboro, Arkansas! It is heartening to know that such truly caring people do exist in this world.
My thanks go out to everyone I met who went out of their way to help me during my few days of extreme distress.
If you've never been there, the people alone make it well worth the trip. Especially Miss Bonnie at the welcome center! And, Officer Lamb of the local sheriff's dept. Two wonderful people.
My trailer is still in Arkansas. Officer Lamb assisted with much of the logistics. He also runs a small RV park outside the state park.
Now, I'm going to take a day or two to rest and then go truck shopping.
Many thanks to everyone here for your support and helpful suggestions!

Glad to hear your story took on a positive note, Julianne.
Now we can look forward to your choice of TV (Tow Vehicle)! There are always lots of opinions on what is the best one.

Looks like it's going to be a 1999, Ford F-150 truck.
And, I've found a place in Arkansas to hole up for a few months, to square away my finances and heal my wounded pride.
Although it wasn't the greatest start too my life in Nyx - I think I've rebounded nicely.

I'm new to the forum and I read your story with great interest. Thank you for sharing!
I just picked up a 74 Silver Streak and although it has way less to do your story inspired me that I can do it!
I'm sorry for the hard knocks you've been getting and admire your resilience and amazing attitude. Please keep us posted
Best Wishes on your Journey!

Juliannne,
Just finished reading the thread this morning....inspiring comes to mind, but seems a bit inadequate considering all you've been thru and what you've accomplished.

Looks like a prety good settlement. That will be a SWEET trailer when you are finished.

It's official. I'm back in Arkansas and I have a truck! I AM NOW A FULL TIME TRAILER MAMA!
And, self sufficient cuz I have a truck...!
Just no cell phone service, no AC yet, and my finances need to settle - but, who cares?
Seriously!
Everything I own is with me and it's paid for free and clear!
