Nice trailer you have there. Good incentive for me to get started on my '49 Royal Mansions restoration. (full Monte) I'm looking forward to traveling in style and 60 year old comfort.
Good plug on Murphy's Oil soap too. I'm a firm believer in it myself.....Well, that and the fact that I work at the liquid detergent plant where it's made. Keep on scrubbin' so I can retire and travel full time.
I love the old Spartans, I lived in one full time many years ago: a 1953 (can't remember the size, think it was a 25') with birch interior. We pulled it with a l961 Cadillac convertible from Missouri to Colorado and New Mexico and back again. If I can find pictures I will try to post them. I loved that trailer. I still have a chest of drawers from the kitchen of it; it is now a permanent part of the kitchen in my house.

We would love to see your pictures..... Hope you can find them.
The interior is pretty much original. We had very little actual repair to do. It was just alot of elbow grease and washing all the years of dirt away. The original birch just shines and shines. We found that the bathroom had alot of scaling or flaking on the walls, but once washed well with Murphy's and then coated with very little varathane it all came back beautifully.
We also added quarter-round trim along the floor edges, just to clean up the edges of the new tile. No other varathaning was necessary anywhere else in the trailer.
Less than a month now until we open her up for the season!! ! Yeah!

Was this picture taken just on 69 just outside Big Cabin, OK?
We don't know where that picture was taken. Our friend Jim was on his way home to Ohio from Tucumcari NM when that was taken. Probably was taken in OK, given the route he'd take to get home.

This is a picture of a picture, the Cadillac convertible in the picture is what we pulled it with! Hope it posts OK Sandy
I did, It was in my old picture albums. Not the one I wanted, that one had the trailer and the car hitched up but I guess that one went in the divorce! LOL!
Hi we have your exact model, even the color of the booth is the same . Ours is not as great shape as yours, We will be finishing our remodel and parking it in the mountains of San Diego. We also have the couch liie yours. We are told it was original. we want to recover it but could not fit it throught the door so we had to take it out in 2 pices. Like to share some things with you. Ron
Nice Spartanette, mine is a 1948 24',she went thru hurricane Wilma and lost a roof vent cover, thus my buying price of $500.00.One of thse days I`ll get around to the full monte.give me something to do when I retire . Dave
We absolutely LOVE our Royal Spartanette! ! We've had all this summer to really live in it, and it is very special to us. We gave the green couch to our friend, and changed it out for a vintage ez-boy chair that was a wedding gift for my parents. We had it recovered a few years ago, and thought it would look great in the trailer. We wondered if the little green couch was original or not, but after sitting on it for 1 season, we decided we'd rather go for the comfort. The little chair with the ottoman is the my chair, and of course the big 'gold' one is hubby's.
Good luck with your lovely's and submit pictures of them, please. We love pics here! !
