Hello Cndcampers. Welcome to Air Forums. My son has a 69 Globe Trotter. It has lots of needs and I hope to get my grubby little hands on it some day. Maybe he'll trade me for my Trade Wind. Maybe I should call it a Trade Trailers.
I wonder how many of us have shorted our positive 12v
battery lead to almost anything. Nice fireworks when we do it. I have shorted my 86 several times as the positive terminal bangs against the trailer compartment door when I pull the battery out for water level checking. I have not had blown fuses by a second direct short to ground.
Our old trailers have seen the hands of previous owners. There are lots of repairs and modifications to sort out. Heck, I put a new converter, 115v breaker box, and 12v
fuse box in my Trade Wind. Some future owner will wonder how that all works I'm sure.
Get ready to enjoy hours and hours of troubleshooting your old Globetrotter. It is part of the fun of vintage ownership. And other enthusiasts will enjoy helping you figure out what's going on.
