Tanks
I just finished ordering my tanks 1 16 gal. bottom dumping black tank and 2 11 gal water tanks that I will gang together for the gray. I'm off to Canada again on Sunday so they should be waiting for me when I return.

I started the painting of the AIRSTREAM letters and a buddy of mine bought a new toy to play with.

HI Kip,
Am I looking at a new french wheel? I've only seen antique ones before.
If so, I have some banana wraps to see you about!
Thanks again for the riveting class at albq. I really enjoyed it.

It's not mine, and it is brand new, as we assembled it this morning. It belongs to one of my co workers. I played around with it for about an hour. It will take so time to become proficient with it.

From the few hints offered so far, I take it that this gizmo is a compound bending/curving device? You aircraft techs have all the fun toys and all the expertise- it just isn't fair...

French Horn...
...English Wheel.
At least I think that's what it is called? I only know this from having watched a few episodes of American Chopper...
Here's a demo on Youtube:
Very cool, would love to get my hands on one of these some day.

I can tell you from very recent experience that they can give you a nasty blood blister if you get distracted

Would that be a 'compound' injury?

French wheel was my bad..
I always think of French when I think of compound curves.
English wheel sounds kind of square.

Update
I haven't had much time to work on the GT this summer as I've been the onsite Rep. for our C130 overhaul in Abbotsford BC. I am now at Paine Field (Seattle area) getting the Herc painted. I'm really looking forward to going home. I bet I've gained ten pounds eating in resterants. Here's a couple of progress pics.

So what is the sq/ft paint coverage number? They still use something like IMRON? (I'm dating myself with that I suppose). And, as I don't remember if you've already mentioned it, what's the history on that airplane (model?).
That's a helluva building to make a Hercules look that small.

No one really uses Imron anymore. There are much better poly paints out now. We use a PPG paint. It took 5 55gal drums of stripper and there is a pallet of paint setting in the hanger but I don't know how manny gallons are on it. I have no idea how many square feet of surface area the herc has.
The aircraft I crew on is an ex Navy Tacamo or Sub communications bird. It had a winch that let out a long wire antenna about 5 miles out the back for the ULF radio . It's a EC130Q.

It looks good. Glad to know you will soon be spending more time in/on/under that Airstream.

I just got a 72 Globetrotter and the passenger side frame under the shower has deteriated and the bumper support from the frame is missing and the trailer level adjustment is missing from that side too. The bathroom looks like it has been renovated and there are no soft spots in the floor but I am concerned about the support of that area and the bumper. Have any sugestions?
