Smile 1970 Glinda!

Hi !! newbie here to the trailer thread!!
(I bought a 20' Argosy MH last april)
This is Glinda!! Attached are a couple of pics.

Her interior is gutted and our first attack is to the rear frame, where my husband is welding. I've been on here before we bought and saw someone posting a link/list of items to update right away.

Before I ask you pros what they are, I'm wondering what the differences between 1970 and 71 would be regarding the exterior? windows? etc.
I need to update the seals, the lock (no key) window cranks/handles.
Banana Wraps and so on..

Here’s a couple more pics.. My husband has a degree in engineering but works as a finish carpenter and just got laid off, which I’m happy about! Worse part is no garage, being in Boston and all, looking into vinyl shelters.Click image for larger version

There should not be much difference (if any) in the exterior features you list between 70 and 71. If you want to do some quick comparison, try the following link, and they have a fairly extensive photo gallery by models by year.

vintageairstream.com

The question is, why do you ask about the differences in a 70 and 71? Do you have a parts donor that is a '71?

At any rate, the door and window seals are the same and can be purchased at places like outofdoorsmart.com and vintagetrailersupply.com. The door latch (KT lock) could be re-keyed by a lock smith, but you might as well replace the whole assembly with something new and serviceable, though it will require some mods to the door (not a new KT lock, which runs $500).

The windows probably just use "lifters" and these plastic ladder thingies, which are probably shot on your trailer, and are available new as well. The window latches are available new--not so sure about the lifter knobs.

good luck!

Hi, thanks for the info!

I’ve been on that VA site. They only show one furnished.

No donor, but haven’t found any renovations with bare shell.

I ended up power washing the girl, and came across an emblem, which looked like it was stamped in the aluminum over the many Airstream numbers below. I researched this and realize it was once a sticker, it seemed as if it had etched its way into the metal as I had the water on full force to reveal the lettering Click image for larger version
