For those who haven't had a chance to visit, the art museum's roof is a pair of wings that are extended weather permitting to admit light and solar heat and retracted when shade is desired. They generally "flap" at noon and at other times during the day. The photo was taken inside looking straight up with the wings in the open position.

Exactly! The bridge has a publicly accessible observatory via an elevator to the top of the south tower that offers an incredible view about 450’ above the Narrows. The granite fort was built in the early 1800s to protect Maine from a naval invasion. It has emplacements for 135 cannons. 2 hot shot furnaces were built to provide red hot cannon balls to be fired at wooden ships to hopefully set them on fire. Advances in 1800s technology made hot shot cannon balls obsolete and were never used as more advanced 10" and 15" Rodman cannons were installed. The 15" Rodman barrel weighs 50,000 lbs and required 12 men to load and fire. It was capable of launching a 450 lb iron ball over 5,000 yards. The fort never saw action.

We've not been to the fort, but the bridge in the picture was the clue for me, as we saw it last year on our trip to the Maine coast.

The US route is south of these cliffs which this area is named after. The same US route is both in Arizona and Utah at the same time and just north of the Colorado. Here's another photo. Name the road and the major geological feature and you got it.

I think the highway is US 191, and I think the geological feature is the Navajo Sandstone, or the Entrada Sandstone. Or, maybe part of Arches National Park?

No. The answer is not the name of the rock strata. There is a particular name for this area named after the geological feature.

Here is Wikipedia's description" "Cliffs are made up of deposited silt and desert dunes, cemented by infiltrated carbonates and intensely colored by red iron oxide and other minerals, particularly bluish manganese. They are in the physiographic High Plateaus Section and Canyon Lands Section of the Colorado Plateau Province." The place is also between 2 major bodies of water connected by a major river.

Here's another photo:

OK then, it must be the Vermillion Cliffs viewed from US Hwy 89 in Southern Utah.

Vermillion Cliffs is correct. US Hwy 89 is correct. But, you can't see Vermillion Cliffs from US 89 in southern Utah. You're soo close. Here is another photo, Vermillion Cliffs in the distance. This was take on the same road, going up the hill, on the way to one of the 7 wonders of the world.

Well, I have to differ with you because I have driven that HWY, and seen the Vermillion Cliffs in Utah, but the area you have pictured must be in Arizona then. However, from Wikipedia: "The Vermilion Cliffs are the second "step" up in the five-step Grand Staircase of the Colorado Plateau, in northern Arizona and southern Utah. They extend west from near Page, Arizona, for a considerable distance, in both Arizona and Utah.."

You are kind of right, but not exactly. The Vermillion Cliffs may extend a few miles into Utah, but Vemillion Cliffs National Monument is completely in Arizona. There is a major US river within a few miles of US 89 where the photo was taken. The photo was taken from the road between this river and the Vermillion Cliffs. There is no major river anywhere near US 89 in Utah. So here is the last little detail: No doubt you have driven US 89 in Utah. The original photo was not taken from US 89 in Utah, but it was taken from US 89. Within a few miles, where on US 89 was the photo taken from? This is give away: if you continue on this road you will find yourself at Jacob Lake. Here's another photo from along the road:
