That'd be OK. I think Steven Wright got most of his material by secretly eavesdropping on me. For instance I think I've said this before. I found it attributed to him.
"My watch is three hours fast, and I can't fix it. So I'm going to move to New York."

The other day, this lady was talking about our flood this fall. She said "I'd rather have my house burn down than have it flooded."
I said, "yeah, especially if you've got marshmallows."
About 2 minutes later, she broke out laughing and said" Oh, marshmallows, I get it.

Right On! This park was a pleasant surprise for us - we were on our way to the Horseshoe Canyon section of Canyonlands to see the grand gallery. The campground was an unadvertised special (for us).

It was Goblin Valley in the summer that finally got me to buy a second generator to run my AC

I'm pretty sure you just set a "time to solve" speed record.
The people are my wife Susan and her techno-geek husband. Note the gadget belt.

I recognized it because before I retired, I had this pic of my wife on my desk at work.

I don't know who was there first, but maybe one of us was standing in the other's foot prints.

Our was taken 7/22/10 at 1:43 PM MDST

9/27/05...hence the jacket and scarf. It snowed that day.

This is a favorite stop off of mine in the 4 corners. Often the campground on a canyon rim is empty. Most people drive right by and don't even know it is there.
And, nobody bugs about the dogs being off leash.

Yeah
It is about a 7 mi drive in on gravel roads which can be washboard. It is also within an hour or so driving distance to Chaco Canyon and the seldom visited Bisti Badlands. The last time I checked it was a 20+ mile in washboard ride in to the Chaco Campground. There has been an ongoing debate whether to pave it or not. The bad road, which is all on Navajo land, keeps the traffic down.

Angel Peak is on, I think state land, which is leased for gas wells. So there are a few working wells around.

Thanks for the info. We've never been there, but thru process of elimination, a map, and internet search I found it. We've driven by it several times, and the area looks so desolate that I never considered staying there. Are there any facilities or hookups? Usually hot when we are there and either headed to or from the cool higher elevations.

I think it's probably BLM land:

Angel Peak Scenic Area

Looks like Bright Angel Trail in Grand Canyon. I'm too fat for the mule ride down to the bottom, 200# limit. Maybe some day I'll hike it. Getting back up could be another story.
