#980, More Rocks, that looks kind of like the Needles area near Mount Rushmore.

It's in a national park in the eastern US. It's about a mile hike from the campground.

I guessed the park, but I think you wanted more details? Is that correct?

Ok,
I'm guessing the rock formation is East Pinnacles and the picture was taken from a place on Hwy 146 called Peaks View.

Not quite. Remember I said you had to hike to this view. The area is accessible either hiking in from the East or the West side, but is visible from from many places in the park. The rock formation in the pic is a smaller piece of the larger "pie"!

No, the area I was looking for is the High Peaks. This photo was taken from the High Peaks trail and the rock formation is called Hawkins Peak. Come to the rally and learn more!

I'm sure I'd enjoy the rally.. However the trip from Colorado to California in February would stand a good chance of being more exciting that I'm willing to sign up for. I've driven those highways in winter many times. However I haven't been towing anything. Most of the times I remember being darned glad I wasn't.

This is what I feel like right now.

LOL! With this drought we are having it's been one 70 degree day after another. Dry as Steven Wright humor though...
