Here is another pic from my post at #882. The lake shown is one of the main attractions here and it is a winter home for several bird species including Sandhill Cranes.

There are two Federally run campgrounds located here. This pic is the one where we stay. If you come here though, fill your gas tank and bring your supplies as the nearest store or gas station is 50 miles away.

Here's the companion station across the street from the Mobil... Sign out front said Phillips 66.

I probably should have disqualified myself. That's only 100 miles away and we go to Colorado Springs once a year or so.

You're close. Hint 2: I think I see daylight at the back of that "cave".

Yessir it is. The location is know as The Old Tunnel State Park. Trucks and roads were the technological advances of its day, obsoleting the railroad that served the farmers for so many years. The rails were pulled up to support the war effort during WWII. The tunnel has since become the seasonal home to an estimated 3,000,000 bats. The state park both protects the sanctuary and provides an opportunity for the public to observe the evening swarm as they go out to hunt insects each night while they are in residence. I found it amazing that each spring the colony returns with its pregnant females and when it is time for them to give birth, only they leave the colony for a maternity ward elsewhere in the countryside. They rejoin the colony with their infant pups. As dusk arrives, the nursing moms depart first to feed in the vicinity of the tunnel and the rest goes out a little later to forage further away. The tunnel is almost 1/2 mile long, the back end is on private property and not accessible. The trail in the park crosses the old rail bed in front of the tunnel, so this is the only real vantage point to see the tunnel. The trail is off limits in the evening so human presence won't interfere with their nightly exit.

OK, here's a super easy one. Probably won't have to give one clue.
