In is located in the parking lot of The Desert Bar in Arizona’s Buckskin Mountains.

A quote from the Internet.

" In the parking lot itself, was a 3-story tall steeple made of solid steel which served as an outdoor church. All religions are welcome to pray there but there are no formal services held there. It is just a steeple – no pews or seats or building. They wanted it to be separated from the bar by the wash, so it was located by the parking lot. Their literature said that you could have your wedding there by special arrangement, and by paying a fee. "

You got it, Ken. And here is their web page, and explains all about the place, it's amenities, and history. A quite interesting place to visit.

Hint re: 663
When I thought of big trees I first thought of Sequoia and Redwood. This group of old growth giants the loggers missed is neither.

Further north and not exactly coastal. The tree is located in an area previously discussed in this thread. While these trees are patriarchal this area is better known for something a bit larger.

Yew just can't beat a good pun. They're always poplar.

Trust dirigible and JDS to spruce up the reply.

Will the puns ever stop?
A bunch of hippies went to these trees in the Summer of Love. One Hippy with a slight speech problem exclaimed "Grovey, man Grovey."

I guess it's time to go out on a limb here.

The place where these trees are are located, although they are giant ancestral trees are within an area known by an even larger feature. This place is not coastal but the bigger feature can be seen from the coast.

Getting closer but you are a little too far northwest. From Olympic you should be able to easily see the big one the larger area is named after. Your post got me to google ONP. Never been there but it is now on my bucket list. I saw some internet photos of the same type of trees at Olympic.

Remember, once the bigger area is nailed you still need to name the specific point of interest within the larger context. This should be easy to do from the official website.

You're almost there!

Ok, I figured it out. You were on the "Grove of the Patriarchs Trail"

I've been all over Mt Rainier National Park, but 98% of the time was spent higher than where trees like that grow. Although I did camp somewhere near there about 40 years ago.

The US 101 loop around the Olympic Peninsula is worth spend a whole summer exploring. There are many interesting out the way sites on the side roads.
