You are the WINNER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

HE STORY OF "WOODENHEAD"
"Woodenhead" was created in the 1930's
by local resident Peter Fuoco in his free
time while working on the Big Bend
Highway project. Using a double bitted
axe and some chisels, he decided to try
his hand at sculpting. Government Officials
were so impressed by the creation,
that they took the finished sculpture
and set it along the highway as one of
the first road safety warnings in B.C.
The sign advised speeding motorists
"not to be a Woodenhead" and slow down.
During the 1960's, when the Trans-Canada
Highway opened, Woodenhead was moved
to town and became a local heritage
artifact. In 2005 the restoration of
"Woodenhead" and the construction of the
protective roofing was carried out by
the City of Revelstoke.

Dave most of my trips were along the Yellowhead between Edmonton and Vancouver so I have never been in Revelstoke. My trips from Calgary to Vancouver along the Trans Canada were always done in one day so it was just a blast pass. Soon I will have more time to sniff out some the great spots that you have brought to our attention. Thanks for that. Jim

Ha Ha! You'd think so, but it's actually a cave along the shore line of Acadia National Park that combined with the waves at a certain tide level causes a thundering sound.

I just thought the sign was too funny to pass up.

I just can't resist putting this up. I previously posted it so the answer is the Thunderbird Lodge east of Zion National Park

Dang uploading photos is slow!

Another shot, same lake

That first one may be too tough. All lakes tend to look the same, after all. Here's another, maybe better known location.

Could be any of the Hill Country lakes, but with the swimmers on the rocks my next guess would be Lake Travis?

The towers in the background is what made me think of Joe Pool.

One of the Hill Country lakes is right, but it's not Travis. It is in one of our great state parks.
