Ok, you scored all the points.

That is nice and rewarding hike for a not too hot summer day.

Exclamation The Legend of Pooping Bear Falls

That reminds me of an old Native American story. A young Indian boy asked his father, "Father, how do we chose names for babies when they are born?"

His Father answered, "Son, in our tribe, when a baby is born, the father walks out of the teepee and the first thing he sees becomes the name of the new born child. For instance when your sister was born, it was very early in the morning, I walked out and saw the morning star. That is why she is called Morning Star. Why do you ask, Pooping Bear?"

When Pooping Bear grew old and feeble, he perished by falling into this river. That brown streak has been there ever since.

The original version of this tale can not be posted here!!!

NO, but that's at least a funny guess. The brown tint to the water is because of tannin I believe from decaying plant matter. The falls are in a popular State Park.

Post 266 is an RV park between Bend and Sisters OR, The Bend/Sisters Garden RV park. A very nice full service park, close to lots of hiking trails, lakes, rivers, etc. Thought I would disclose the location based upon the Photo point posted here, that being Twin Sisters

That looks like a beautiful Park.

Here is a photo of Longs peak in the center with the Twin Sisters on the right and closer . I could take this picture from my back yard, but I didn't, I swiped it from the internet.

They are different from Three Sisters in Oregon.
