Last Tuesday in the chat room we were discussing where we live. I think its great that I can be in my living room in Northern California and
chat in real time with Jerry in No. Carolina and Sam in Florida. There were others that came and went during the night. Anyway we thought it might be interesting if you were to just go out in the front yard, snap a picture and post it. I know thousands of people pass through my town of Chico every day and just keep on going, never seeing the beauty we are blessed with. I volunteered to start so here goes.
I live in a canyon between two towns. The towns are Chico (home of Sierra Nevada beer) and the town of Paradise CA. Directly across from my house is a spot called "Lookout Point". It is a cliff rising several hundred feet up. At the top there is a road. People used to drive up there and then over the cliff. In the last several years, 52 people have taken their own lives there. Recently the County bought the property, removed all of the cars and installed huge boulders and a fence. It is now a viewing area. If you look closely you can see parts of the fence.

Grown men, dressed as clowns, concern me.
Right on the edge...between the Sandhills and the Coastal Plain of NC. We live on what is left of my wife's family farm. We are the 3rd generation. It is basically inactive except for a few chickens. But that may change some in the near future.

Why are we in this basket...and where are we going
We live in Lapeer Michigan, 60 miles North of Detroit and 20 miles East of Flint. (We live in the thumb of Michigan.) We are transplants from Chicago, Illinois.
Lumbering was the sole industry in the early days of Lapeer. The flourishing lumber business attracted the New York Central Railroad and Grand Trunk Railroad. NOTE: Grand Funk Railroad was named as a pun of this railroad from Flint and Terry Knight was a resident of Lapeer. Lapeer later became the intersection to two state trunk lines: M-21 and M-24. Adequate supplies of water, fuel and electricity, and many various forms of recreational facilities, provided the foundation for our growing community. Our industries today supply our state’s high-tech automotive industry with gray iron casting, molded plastics, plastic fabrics, electrical harnesses and stamping.
Live from the michicam, Our front and back yard.

Once I get ahold of our camera, I'll try to post some shots (my wife has taken it along to work today). By description, we live on a hill overlooking three lakes surrounded by trees. Because of the thickness of the tree coverage, we cannot benefit from satellite T.V. - must stick with cable (phooey!!!). Yesterday, on my way to working out, I had to slow down, within 100 feet of our drive, for two deer and ten wild turkeys. In the 20 years we've lived in this area, I've seen one wild turkey - yesterday changed that! Because of the hills, sharp turns and rough terrain, we keep our AS in the nearest town (Lancaster, OH). Fortunately, we found an old 84 Lumber yard that has been converted to boat/trailer storage - with certified mechanics on duty daily. Great place to keep the trailer - they winterize ($50) and look after it for me. It is stored inside all year for $50 per month - pay for eleven months and they give the 12th month free. Got in on their second year of operation - they take excellent care of the AS. We're getting into traveling with the AS and hope to see all these other places you've been writing about. Keep on 'streamin............hope to see you all some time, on the road.

Hi,
I'm a 1965 Airstream Safari.
I live in a driveway next to a nice old brick house in Salt Lake City, Utah.
It's a nice cozy spot with a view of the street and what's going on.
My caretaker usually looks over in my direction when he gets home and smiles, I think he likes me, it's a good feeling. When it's warm out side he sits on the patio in front of the house, and sometimes I can see him drawing up plans to fix me up. Wow if he finishes everything he has planned I think I'll be pretty spiffy. Now that fall is here I don't see him as much, but I trust that he'll be back next spring when it warms up.
this is what our Airstream will see out front of the house. But then again the Avatar was taken in front of the house. (not in the winter but we do wear shorts in November)
