Beautiful Central Illinois

Love the thread and all your picturesque homesteads. This is a pic of our old house( and my in-laws) this summer. We have been working on it(the inside) ever since we bought it two years ago. My wife has a disease that compels her(meaning me) to fix up old houses, like many of you have the disease to buy and fix up old airstreams. I have not had much time to work on the airstream since we have moved here. And she is now winterized, and put away until the spring. Bethany has a pop. of about 1300. Its a picture(not perfect) of the rural Midwest, surrounded by beautiful flat rich farmland.

Hey Gene, maybe you could see my house
Since we are close in altitude, my trees obstruct my view of Cedaredge plus about 40 or 45 miles of distance. I can see Grand Mesa above purman's ranch. I'm sure purman can see Fruitland Mesa where we live, but can't find our house without the Hubble telescope. If you think purman's spread means he's a gazillionaire, around here anyone with any sort of ranch loses money and thus has to send his wife out to work. I wish my wife would get a job.

On a 1/4 acre in Princeton NJ all I can see when it is clear are other 1/4 acres so I am content with this view from the back door

yeah, No gazillionare here, we only have 10 acres, but the pond is nice, hope to clean it up and get some big trout in it for some fly fishing one day..

We bought our place before things went up in price 4 years ago.
