We are wondering what happened to the sun here in California?

Well...watching one of the Seattle TV stations this evening, I saw our neighborhood listed as having one of the heavier snowfalls today. I'm not a novice at this, having lived many years in New Hampshire and Colorado, but I've never before had a trailer parked in the yard during a heavy snowstorm. Does anyone have an idea how much "wet" snow the roof of a newish Airstream can take?

8 inches at our house so far, which is a LOT for us! Then it got a crust of ice on it, the dogs hate walking on it. But for the last few hours it's been dropping more powder on top. The vinyl carport that covers the Caravel has a lot of snow on top, and I knocked quite a bit off this afternoon, but couldn't get much off the side by the shop. I'm hoping the weight won't collapse it if it piles much more on

We are south of Cameron about half an hour as the crow flies, just north of the US border, and we have about 10 inches of snow on the ground. It has not stopped for more than a half hour today and I'm already tired of winter . Like you Steph we have a crust and then fresh snow again on top of that. I have a hill in front of my house and people seem to have no problem coming down but that is only because they made it about half way up and had to turn around. It is about -2 celcius so not cold but we need our rain/liquid snow shovel back. It is supposed to rain this coming Saturday. I guess a white Christmas is definitely in the cards.

We have friends who escaped a week ago to CA to get some sun. So far they have not found it.

Yes, watched the Seahawks game today and watched the heavy 'snow-job' most of the game...I don't how you guys put up with that stuff!

Living near sea level here in Northern Calif all my long years, I'm just spoiled, I guess! A quick trip up to the mountains, dealing with those pesky tire chains and the crowds of idiot 'amateur snow drivers' really 'taints' that 'winter wonder land' image...

Had a buddy that lived all his live in So-Cal, move his family up to the Portland area. Their first Christmas, they decided to visit family back in Calif, and shut off their heater while gone....WRONG....returned a week later to find all the pipes in their house frozen solid!...Expensive lesson...we 'Prune Pickers' just aren't used to all that 'weather' many of you have to deal with every winter!

hey you guys shouldn't complain. I live in darrington. Usually called Cascade foothills, about elev 500' . Well as of Saturday I had 32" of snow and the lower was -4 degrees F. It warmed up to 15 on saturday and now is a clamy 24. I have been plowing my 1/4 mile to HWY 530 about 3 times this week. It started snowing on Tuesday night and hasn't stoppped expect for a sunny Friday. I do have my Overlander parked in the barn but it satill has about 12" of snow on its nose. It will brush off easily. From the weather reports, we are in for more of this weather at least until Christmas. Oh well, Learn to be friends with the snow LOL. I will be having a WHITE Christmas
