September 2012 Photo Contest

How about a photo contest?
Recent studies indicate that 7 out of 10 Americans are totally stressed out. There are different methods for dealing with stress such as aromatherapy, massage therapy, psychotherapy and electro-shock therapy.
Mrs HiHo and I use our 'Sream to get away from it all...we call it Alumatherapy

Show us your best photo of your 'Alumatherapy'
Your interpretation of that might be...
Friends...
Beach...
food...
Kids...
But it must be related to You, Aluminum and Therapy

And in the proper theme of AirForums...

The photo must contain a 'Stream OR a Vintage Cousin...

How appropiate, 'Alumatherapy'. That was one of the Forum names that Lynn and I were considering. You see 6 years ago when I was recovering from 2 major surgeries and preparing for my 2nd hip replacement, Lynn, suffered a disabling stroke. So while we were using walkers and had caregivers in house we bought our Airstream. It was months before I could drive let alone tow a trailer so our aluma-therapy was to make our Trade Wind ours by minor repairs, accessorizing, and loading it for when we could begin traveling. We finally discarded the potential name 'Alumatherapy' and decided that 'FreshAir' was a more positive discription.

For our 1st entry here I will place a photo taken of a memorable trip a few years ago to the Big Sur coast. ...Plus one taken from a few weeks ago.

Actually I was somewhat happy that it wasn't selected by your 'panel'. It was a last moment impulsive entry and if it had won I had no idea what I would create as this months theme. HiHo theme for Sept. is very good.

Thanks, but a high bar means little for the talented picture takers here. You WILL have a difficult time chosing the eventual winner.

Hi, I think that we got a lot of enjoyment and mental therapy from taking Boo-Boo with us to Alaska and to a forum Rally. Dusty was my Mom's dog until Sept. 2005. He was my Dad's dog until Feb. 2011. Then he adopted my wife and I. Dusty / Boo-Boo's car rides were to the Vet and Groomers only and only a few miles each. We spent 50 days and over 10,000 miles together. Yes, Grandma and Grandpa, we are taking good care of your dog.

September 2012 Photo Contest

One of the huge advantages of an Airstream, in my opinion, is the WBCCI. Many of my summers have included traveling with friends from the club. In this photo the Scheuermann's and I have stopped for a refreshing lunch near the Rocky Mountain National Park. Our destination was the Rocky Mountain Vintage Airstream Rally. (2005)

Rallying is great way to relax. In this photo, we are visiting Fort Defiance Park in Cairo, Illinois as part of the Around The World Commemorative Rally in 2010.

Combining hobbies can be a relaxing and interesting way to relax. In this photo, I was in the process of setting up camp near Glacier National Park. Later that day, I would be joinging the Peaks' for a top-down tour of Glacier National Park . . . there is something about the variety of experience available when towing with a Vintage convertible . . . I don't know which draws more attention on the road . . . the 1975 Cadillac or the 1978 Minuet. . . .(2008)

Sometimes, a little solitude is nice. In this instance, I was two days from home following the 2008 WBCCI International Rally. This was a small city park campground in Minnesota . . . there were only two other campers in the entire park . . . the location was serene next to a quiet lake with ample shade.

Jackson Rancheria RV Park, Jackson, Ca. is an upscale RV park the does not allow campfires.....well no wood campfires . Well, this is one of NorCal's favorite rally places but what rally isn't complete without a campfire to gather around after a fabulous pot luck dinner. One if our very creative ralliers created this 36'' propane firepit. The local fire dept arrived after calls from Prevost campers of, "There's a BONFIRE down where those Airstreamers are rallying"! Fire dept checked out the 'pit' and told us to 'continue rallying. This was in Oct, '08. We have returned each Oct. since.
