Very impressive! It looks great and I can't believe you did this on your own, I'm handy but not with a sewing machine! A bit jealous of your talent.

Steve! Your sewing skills need to be commended, great job. It looks amazing. Now, on to your darling lab. I lost my Milo two and half years ago. He was a white 100lb lab and passed away two weeks before his 13th bday. He was the best of best and I miss him so much. I really enjoyed seeing your lab in your AS. I always wanted to travel the country with Milo. Guess I will have to find another lab friend to travel with. I have been volunteering with the Safe Harbor Lab Rescue here in CO. But, no new friend as of today!

Tinman,
Looks great.
AND it looks like you came up with a solution to the fact that your oven/stove (and mine) was meant to be recessed down below the countertop. I have that exact same unit and am wondering how to detail it so the cooktop portion can be set on top of the counter. There's a dark shadow line right where I want to see "detail" of the connection at the face. Anyway you can post a photo with the cooktop cover off?
Thanks, MarkR

Mark, Not sure what you are trying to do? If you are raising the hole unit up? I have to bend up a nice shiny piece of aluminum for a filler in the front yet.

Thanks for posting the picture. Yes, I'm raising the unit. The original parts and pieces and trims had it set up to be below the counter, where a "flip top" counter would cover it up. So I'm trying to make it work like you've installed yours. Looks like I'm maybe a little more worried about it than I should be.
Great Job on your trailer, thanks for posting your project.

My stove is exactly like these and it sits on top of the counter, well actually rests into the top and sits level with the surface. My countertop has a hole in it for the top and has a piece in front of the cooktop. I'm at work right now but tonight I'll post a pic and show you guys how its set up.

A light remodel of our Bambi - come on in!

Certainly not as impressive as some of the others, but our efforts to update our 2000 19' Bambi have involved my making some cushion covers, buying a comforter and cover that coordinated with the dinette cushions, installing a clock/thermometer/humidity meter, and putting a kitty door for access to the litter box in the shower. The material, comforter and clock all came from Ikea.
We also removed the valances above the curtains. Couldn't stand the original brown fabrics.
This year, I'm making new, flat panel curtains (off-white) to replace the "coffin liner" pleated ones, installing a piece of stainless steel above the stove, and removing the white cooking hood and painting it black.
I also installed a sewer snake holder below to get it out of the bumper box.
Almost forgot - replaced the gold hardware on the bath door with a more contemp brushed silver handle.

New Pillows for the Ocean Breeze

We never really liked the little blue pillows that came with our OB so we've been looking and found a couple of great pillows and a Alpaca throw to compliment (we think) the interior while actually being useful and comfortable. The store is local to us but also has an online presence. Google "Emma at Home". The "Emma" in the name was the person (Emma Gardner) that worked with my wife to choose the accoutrements based on interior pictures.

Latest up-date.

Hi,

On page #2 / post #17 you can see what we did to have a living room [kitchen and hallway too] with a French theme. Also in the same post, you can see what we did for an Asian theme in our bedroom.

On page #6 / post #81 you can see an almost completed living room remodel.

On page #10 / post #129 you can see the curtain doublers that my wife made.

But until now we had no idea of how and what we could do to personalize our bathroom. I got the idea from a person who gave us a tour of their trailer, last year at the Jackson Rancheria Rally. I made my own wall paper from pictures from our Airstream trips; I figure that you can't get more personalized than that.

Let's Get Personal

Great idea, Robert. It's those odes to personalization that champion an Airstream.

Photos, vintage postcards and prints - they can turn a bland wall into a focal point.

I like this montage.....

Robert-
Are you willing to share how you attached the photos to make the wallpaper? Did you run the photos on special paper, etc. So cool!! And what a wonderful way to relive those memories of places visited.

My guess is he ModgePodged them to another surface so they would be waterproof and easily removed, i.e. in case he sells his trailer.
