October 2016 Photo Contest
After much pulling of hair and gnashing of teeth the October photo contest theme will be "Are we having fun yet?". Photos should exemplify an aspect of the "camping" experience. Brownie points for photos from the historical anals of your relationship with the great outdoors. For example:

Does the person submitting the photo have to be one of those pictured in the photo, or could it be family members, children, friends, etc.?

That is one palpable photo.
Incidentally my photo is of my 2 kids backpacking in the Adirondacks. They now are in their 40s. Still have the tent. They still go campin with us.

I have about eighteen photo albums, (real photos) of about 35 years of Hiking/Backpacking. (Gawd! That many????)
The Bruce Trail, The Long Trail, the Rideau Trail, Le Cloche Silhouette trail, Grand Valley Trail, and so forth.
THIS involved REAL camping; not sitting in a cottage on wheels.
Would these pictures qualify, or are they out of 'context'?

Mel, the photo I put up in the 1st post was on a backpacking trip in the 70s. See post #3 above and draw your own conclusions. I promise not to turn you in to the Forums police. "We don't no stinkin badges". Even though nowadays most of my camping is in a cottage on wheels, there was a time I would look down my nose at anyone who did not carry their home on their back (reverse snobism). Then I got old. I for one would love to see your photos, and remember I am the judge.

I had a recent problem with photos posting sideways. If I did a simple edit, like a crop, the photo would post right side up.

Any one that has polished their Trailer can relate to this picture... you always see the result pictures and never pictures of the dirty messy long hours and what you look like during the process... "are we have fun yet" is a understatement!

A Jewish friend of mine once told me this awesome story where his Rabbi was talking to the congregation about the question of who is a Jew - especially when intermarried. Some argue you must be a descendent of a Jewish mother, some argue a Jewish father. His Rabbi told the congregation, "you're Jewish if your children's children are Jewish."
