November 2008 Photo contest

Hope I am following this contest thing in the proper way... I was honored with the winning photo from October and if I understand it right, I get to choose this months theme.

So I choose the theme of "Road Photos". It is my hope that people are very creative in their choices here. Photos of the road from the road, of the road from far away, life on the road while eating road food. I want see "road" emphasized in the subject of the imagery. As an individual with an MFA, I hope to see a great deal of creativity this month.

I know I cannot enter officially this month, but here are some photos I would enter if I could....

This is a mini cannon ball run for home. The leader is Rideair, the middle trailer is Robandzoe, and I am following. This photo was taken in Salem NJ after we all attended a WDCU rally in Cape May. We were all hammering down to get home.

This was form two weekends ago in PA. That is Robandzoe in the 58 Sovereign of the Road and Anna the most beautiful Overlander in the country.

It wasn't much of a road when this was taken but it still qualifies. This was last Memorial Day in the White Mountains of Arizona and 15 inches of this white stuff had fallen during the night. Azflycaster had called me before we left to advise us not to make the trip but we did anyway. I never listen.

On The Road
The road of life. This picture represents a turning point in my life. I sold my Airstream after owning it for 3 years. It just did not fit into my life anymore, and it was time to move on. It went up on ebay, and a couple weeks later, a nameless man from a forgotten towing service showed up to haul it away.

Since that time, my life has taken me back down the familiar road of Airstream ownership. There is once again aluminum in my driveway. Sometimes, if you live your life right, good things happen in spite of your best efforts otherwise.
