Twins...
Ok, SilverRanger... you certainly ratcheted up the competition level a notch or two with that gorgeous shot! Somebody's gonna have to have something pretty spectactular to beat that... I dont' think this one is up to the task, but I thought I'd put it out here anyway...

Grayland Beach State Park, Washington
This is late September, can you believe it? Sunny and 70 degrees on the Washington coast. We had a great time. And for those of you looking to take your A/S to Washington, this is a BEAUTIFUL campground and beach. Just over the grassy dune and you're on sand. Our little man loved it.

Yeah . . . how'd ya do that? I have a similar vintage awning but need ropes and stakes to stabilize the poles. Doesn't work too well with pavement all around. What's your secret?

Here is our submittal from the Sycamore RV Resort, Sycamore, IL, about 60 miles west of Chicago this past October 12. We were into the second half of our month long trip. This wasn't the last snow we saw!

Nice photo, but for a CA boy it does look cold!
How did the trailer do in that weather, and do you have any supplimental heat such as catalytic heater?

Actually it did quite well for an odd shaped thermos bottle with so little isulation in it. We had cool nights most of our month log trip; at least 8 nights below freezing, 4 were 26. No catalytic heater, we learned to ignore the furnace fan noise. We would set the thermostat all the way down at night and the furnace would keep the trailer at 50 degrees inside. Any higher and we were too warm in bed with our flannel PJ's. Our coolest day time temps were the morning in the picture, ~34 and then Friday the 20th and Saturday the 21st going over the 10,000+ft passes west of Pueblo on US50 (24 degrees) and south of Montrose on US550 (21 degrees) in CO. We only ran the furnace in the daytime on those 3 days for about 2 hours each. We had quite a bit of ice and snow on Monarch Pass with no real maintenance on the roads, drove 4X4 for over 10 mles. South of Montrose we were in 4X4 more than 25 miles. The rear of the truck slipped sideways a few inches to a foot twice on Monarch before we switched to 4X4. I was cautious since the electric brakes can occassionaly be grabby however the trailer just tracked properly behind us.
We had filled the street side propane tank in NC on Oct 5. The auto switch over regulator was showing one red bar when we got home on the 22nd so the furnace fridge and stove still didn't use much propane with the cold temps.

They're actually standing in gravel; The system we have includes a "frame" slid into the awning itself. Then the 3 vertical poles bolt to this frame. The vertical poles have a flat base. So far it's been a pain in the neck to install and it smells of mildew, though that's better than before I scrubbed it. Once it's up, however, it is great. Looks cool, too.

Here's another entry. Again, it was during our weekend in Grayland. The weather was too nice not to take photos.
