What a shine! Where's my sunglasses? We used to camp at El Capitan every winter, but it's closed for camping this year until spring. I think the CA Parks is having some funding problems. I love the trail along the ocean between El Cap and Refugio.

Here's our latest acquisition taken in Monument Valley Utah. As most folks know, that's where John Ford and others filmed those great old western movies.

I wonder if it's for upgrades? Refugio went thru that during the last couple of years, sections closed due to refurb.
Sorry, a little off topic here...

I am precisely this vain. It isn't an "-est" shot, not the prettiest, best-est, or anything, but... it involved backing the trailer around a right angle from the paved lane, between the two trees at the entrance to the campsite, then thread it among the timber to the rear.

It was our first tight spot with the Airstream after moving from a 21 ft trailer, and kind of a liberating experience to realize that it wasn't all that hard to park after all.

...still off topic, sorry, but did you know that the private El Capitan Canyon campground (just across the 101 from the state park) has opened a new campground and RV Resort? It's only been open two weeks. Pricey, but has all the amenities one could possibly need plus live music on Sat nights during the summer. We're going to try it out in June. http://www.oceanmesa.com/ OK, NOW back to the photos!

Cool! Karma is on the way for having the guts to travel with your flamingos loose in the truck bed and no armed guard!
