May 2013 Photo Contest - Flamingos!
Wow! I totally didn't expect to be this month's winner...there were so many great photos!
I have reviewed the last several month's themes, and given some serious thought to what to do next. Although several fun ideas have been considered, I think this month's theme should be FLAMINGOS.
At every Airstream rally I have ever attended (even before owning my own), flamingos have had a prominent place. I have seen everything from standard pinks to spray painted silver and black, to x-ray flamingos. I'm sure a few of you have some good flamingo pictures!
Here is one to start off the month. It is from the Area 33 rally a few years ago.

It starts like the first photo, and then the second photo comes along. And I don't think that they need the services of their cousin, the stork.

A Fathers Love.
This is an easy win for my wife and I. Those who know us have no argument, no rebuttal. Our rig and theme is completely flamingo. I have dozens of photos I could post that would represent this fact. We would go up against anyone with joy for the competition in this issue. Instead I want to take the time to honor my father who has put up with my crap seance birth. He will likely never see this post and I have always looked for a way to post it without causing him embarrassment. My parents are the reason for my interest in camping and air-streaming as an adult. I moved away from from parents as a young adult and started a new life on the opposite coast of this country. I don't often have the time to go home to visit because of work and life as is goes. My wife and I sent them some flamingos one year and this photo is what we got in return. I love my parents very much but as they age their ability to camp with there friends and family becomes short. I regret never being able to pull our rig up next to theirs and fear the time will never come for that eventuality. Love you Dad. Thank You so Much. Cheers.

Each month's contest is a real thrill. April just has to be a calendar - unbelievably beautiful and inspirational off the beaten track photos.
Now you've all made we want to buy flamingoes!!! And for a while in the 80s, my wife and I lived in Leominster, MA - yes, the home of the pink flamingo factory. Had I known then what I know now....
All the flamingo photos are cool but Rumship, what a great story about your dad and a great photo to boot!!
Just love this nutty group of streamers!!! :-)

RUMSHIP, if your dad has e-mail do him the honor and favor of sending him a link to this thread. He will be touched by your sentiments, I know I was.

Not sure if this is the best picture, and I know this is a picture contest, but this the best story ever - hands down, winner in my mind. Love it.
