I took this picture, along with a few others during a week long trip to New Mexico. The Very Large Array Radiotelescope has several self-guided tours that let you walk out and get actually very close to the individual antennas. They were all pulled in pretty close at the time I took mine - I've got the bundle of pics with me here - will scan a couple more in and put them in my pics section to see - they're pretty cool!

I like the Owens Valley and Sierras. Spaceships land there, too.
The views are to the NNW and SW, with the Spaceship in the same spot.

Why is it..
That everyone else seems to be able to link directly to their Photos sections and get thumbnails, yet when I try to do the same thing, all I get is a busted image link? The only way I'm able to even show an image in a thread is to link to a site outside of the forum. I know I'm doing it correctly. Can anyone explain why this might be?

What operatiing system are you using? And do you get any type of notification when you try to upload?

OS X 10.4. Thing is, I'm not uploading anything. I'm trying to link to a photo already in my forum photo album. For some reason, it doesn't like the image URL for the album, yet does just fine with the image URL for an external site - in my case, Road Runner.
Here's what happens when I try to link to a image in my gallery:
Not only that, this site seems to be having a hard time staying up at the moment. Can anyone shed some light on this?

Uh, Oh!
It must be the last day of the competition. The competitors are bringing out the "big guns;" kids, dogs, pink flamingos, and the very large array.
Great photos all! And this is a great thread!

Cute little Argosy Minuet
Hey,
It's still May here on the Left Coast, at least for another hour
Saw this Minuet at the 24 Hour Mountain Bike Race this weekend in Spokane and being a new Argosy owner just had to go talk to the owner and take a picture:

when you're a good stick, it's no problem, you could frease a dump truck into hot tub (or a 500 lb bomb in a machine gun pit)! You think it's an antenna, but it's really my flying saucer from area 51--lots of toys to play with there!

congrats to led and all the entrants.....
i especially liked uberlanders skin/sky contrast....
but all the shots are nice.....
and a neat by product of these photo threads
is that folks are thinking about pictures
and moments to capture
to share with others here....
this action makes us all winners....
cheers

Great photo, Zep! It's got everything; scenic beauty, the scientific creativity of man, a Vintage Airstream. Thanks for sharing!

Congrats LED!
I will step up to the plate and take on the June photo contest. I will be tough but fair. Let the contest begin. Who's going to provide the first entry?
