I kept coming back to 'Caravaning' by Wheel interested. Ilike the newer and older Airstreams in line an the families enjoying the moment,]' The 'photo moment' would have been disrupted if the photographer hollared, "SMILE AND WAVE." I know you can't plan these views all the time but if so the background hills could have been the 'Tetons'. THAT would have made this a better contender.

Airstream, let the good times roll..
by, hellsbay. I'm sorry, I know this is a favorite when it was posted. It got my attention. It SCREAMED.......display. Ok, that's what I did for many years and loved it. But I loved photography just as much and more. This photo has it all...and not enough. (Did I hear 'less is more'?) It is 'stiff'...needs a personal connection to take it out of the show room floor. Again perhaps if there was more of the enviroment showing, a couple sharing a bottle of wine......or beer...........

3 to go...BREAK TIME
I've been with you guys all weekend and it's dinner time. One of the next 3 is the winner. They are all STRONG contenders and very different....and I admit that I know not which one it will be. I WILL decide tonight.

CORRECTION; the entry entitled 'Collage' was entered by 'Silver bean' NOT Ranger Jay. Sorry.

I love number one; it's got great color and the AS is well framed. The best thing about it is that, by looking at all the gear sitting out there, I know that the campers are off doing something fun and I want to know what that fun thing is.
That said, the other two are no slouches and number 3 may be the closest to the original instructions and 2 looks like its right out of an AS catalogue.

gumblegrumble grumble....
OKAY...LET ME TRY THIS AGAIN!!!! sorry.
In no particular order.
'florida keys' by Ms Rivet; I love the explosion of color in this picture and the way the different colors repeat throughout. Art students are taught to do this as are decorators which was part of my career. My one criticisium would be that moho peeking from the other side.....but whatcha gonna do? I tried ( on my own) cropping this tighter...up into the yellow yak from the left, into the rear window from the right and 1/3 to 1/2 of the sky from the top. It 'cut' out a lot of un needed empty space and clutter om the edges. But I have to judge on how the entry was entered.
'Pretty dog' by Ranger Jay; As another entry poster said, 'less is more'. Although I disagreed with that in his entry it works here.....but to contradict that a wee bit I would like to have seen a little more of what's around the mirror. You've made the mirror frame the FRAME for the picture and that doesn't work.......for me.
'Swimming' by Tin loaf; Your companion entries with this were frustrating because the foregrounds, dog swimming in one and kayaker in the other were blocking/distracting the viewer from the subject, the Airstream. I'm all for foregrounds in a composition but had both in their respective pictures had been swimming/paddling toward shore....well to this picture. Nit picky...too much water in front and maybe a little tighter in from the side....but a very nice picture.
Next.....the WINNER.

and the winner is...
Oh, I see that from some of the posts just made that I may have to delete my address.
Okay this is really tough as each of these are so different and very good in their way...I really like 'em all but my conscience says to stick with the theme that I 'DA JUDGE, set in the begining.
SWIMMING by Tin loaf.....as my predescessor told me, "Have fun with the next contest."!
Yours,
Neil

Congratulations to everyone - and especially to Steve!
This has been a great contest - spectacular pictures - and a real nail-biter right to the end (although I gotta admit - I was in bed and snoring for the "photo" finish .....) - this was lots of fun - thanks Neil.
Steve: really looking forward to the theme for April!

I loved this contest and the suspense was high! The critiquing was fabulous. A big thanks to Neil for his work. I quite enjoyed reading all the posts. I am flattered to have had had a mention. Congratulations to Tin Loaf and all the entrants for a great group of entries. Now suspense begins anew to see what we are assigned with for next month.
note: My pictures were Maine-streaming to Acadia N.P. with Airstream's Life's editor Rich Luhr, Eleanor and a very young Emma in the Green (or White ?) Mountains.

Day after....
I had fun......I hope I didn't cause too much 'pain'. I was having an eppic evening with losing my posts before posting them. The good thing about that for YOU was with each rewrite I became less 'wordy'. I never learned to type...I one finger and peck each key.....one.....at......a.......time.
I really enjoyed the judging proccess. However, I am overly sensitive to hurting anyones feelings. ALL entries were wonderfull. Thanks for entering. My motto is the there are no bad pictures.....just some are better than others....in my opinion....so another judge most likely would have a different winner. I had my favorite pictures but I set, I thought, a specific theme and needed, in my opinion, keep that integrity. 'Swimming' is one of my favorite photos from the first time it was posted....it 'felt' so Airstream experience. Congrats, Steve......now
What's the APRIL contest theme.....
Neil
