March 2006 Photo Contest
Money! Cash Money! That's what I'm talking about.......
The rules:
Post your favorite Airstream photo here. Please do not use a photo belonging to anyone else without their permission. Grand prize is a crisp five dollar bill which will be sent to you via snail mail.
All entries must be posted before midnight, MST 3/31/06.
I will be the judge. It's a tough job but someone has to do it.
Grand prize winner will be announced in first week of April, after I've had a chance to receive all bribes.
It's for real, go for it!
Winner gets all bragging rights.

Tips
I have enlisted the aid of my two buddies Smokie and Gracie, pictured below. They love pictures of pets (hint, hint). I love pictures of Airstreams (hint, hint). Your picture can be of anything that we can display here. Some examples are Airstreams, pets and Airstreams with pets (HINT, HINT)
I will copy all pictures to this location: http://community.webshots.com/album/548052015vhlDMh
Good Luck to all!

My entry
I'll start it off since I need to try to get my 5 bucks back.
I call this one "sunrise on a 1971 Caravel in the Michigan countryside".

60 ft Airstream
I started polishing a 31 ft Airstream but before I could finish it turned out to be 60 ft. of Airstream.

Cory that is a fantastic picture. Clone in some shiny gas tanks and color the chock black and you have a framable picture or calendar not exceeded! Post that to Airstream site for the contest of the month too.

My guess is that they saved the picture on a low resolution, that way they were able to enlarge the photo using fewer pixels. I know that I could figure it out how to do it, but I just haven't had the time to futz. So for those who are able to make their pics REALLY HUGE. Please post a quick lesson for us.

I wanted to add one of my own. I don't think I can pick myself as the winner and live. The picture was taken at Little America in Flagstaff, AZ

Large images
There are two ways to attach images:
1. Upload File from your Computer. I think the maximum size is 640 X 480.
2. Upload File from an URL. I believe this allows a larger image but I don't know the limit.
Perhaps a mod could clarify?
btw, if you're not viewing in "full screen" mode, you may not see the full-size images. 640 X 480 images have to be enlarged twice (2 clicks on the image) if not in full screen mode. PC users can punch the F11 key to switch to full screen viewing.

more on posting pix
currently the max size is 300kb for a jpeg with a 800 pixels as the largest dimension....vert or zont....
the big photo is 800kb and 1200/900....so that's why i asked....in the main window.......not in secondary window.........
when you post a url....i don't think the actual image shows in your post....just the url...
drop down to the "manage attachments" area and click.......
scrol down to the "attachments key" and there are the limits....
and as i do this my self right now.............i see the size has JUST been
increased to 1024x1024...........whooooopppppeeeeeeee!!!!!!
we like big pixs.......
as the roy the lawman said in jaws.......
"i think we need a bigger boat!"
cheers

Picture Problems!
I took a lot of [before restoration] photos of the "Landshark" and was going to post some here but when I checked them in the camera all the images were strangely corrupted. All of them no longer look like the Safari. They look more like the Six Flags Bus and who the heck is this bald guy dancing in the pictures!!! Ed
