Clouds finally cleared so I could get a couple decent photos of last nights lunar event. Enjoy

Thick full clouds with flooding rains. Not a good night for sky watching.

Nice photo. Thanks for sharing.

I guess people on the moon saw a solar eclipse?

Tsunami....gorgeous photo!

I made popcorn and watched the whole thing from my 7th floor condo in San Diego. I'm on the southeast corner, so had the perfect view. I was mesmerized by the whole thing. Came above the horizon (above the mountains around 6:30-ish) and I watched until 9:00-ish when it was full again.

I thought EVERYONE would be out on their balconies watching, but I didn't see a single other person out on our side of the building or in the building across the way.

I saw it through cloud cover. Unfortunately the red colour did not show. Looked like a normal crescent moon.

I think the magic was in watching the whole process. Otherwise, at certain points, you might just think it was a normal partial moon.

I was so happy we had such clear weather. Seems like every other time some cool thing in the sky has happened, we always have cloudy weather and can't see anything. Lucked out this time!

Great photo!!

Mine are terrible but we were at a small campsite in New Hampshire and our spot had the best viewing location for the event. My favorite part was the 4 couples who wandered by and took us up on our offer to bring their chairs and enjoy the view! Too cool!! 😃

Great Shot - tsunami

Really liked your picture. We didn't get the pretty red orange color, but did get to see the eclipse. It had rained here for 4 straight days but the cloud cover lifted enough to see it.

Thanks everyone. Used a Nikon 82mm spotting scope attached to my Nikon DSLR. Made the lens about 1000 to 1200mm. Very tricky keeping it focused and stable and tracking the moving moon.

Great photos - fine records of a beautiful event. We took the Airstream out just 25 miles to a county park in Elgin, just to watch the eclipse last night. I made dinner and packed it in the trailer. When Becky got home from a class in Chicago, we took off, hoping to escape the developing clouds. A front pushed through at 9:30, during the coverage peak, and cleared the sky. We lay on a blanket outside, in the unseasonable September warmth, and enjoyed the spectacle. A nice night.
