June 2017 Photography Contest
After much consideration, and researching past Airforums Photo Contests, to make sure I haven’t duplicated a similar subject, I submit for your consideration “Your Favorite Airstream Interior Personal Touch, upgrade, modification, or enhancement”. For example, it could be anything from a photo collage of your favorite 2 or 4 legged companion that’s on display to decorations, paint scheme, or the ever fabulous flamingo curtains or bedspread. Here's my example. Thanks and looking forward to seeing great photos, as usual.
As prescribed, here are the Photo contest guidelines just in case:
You must own the rights to any photograph submitted for the photo contest. This advisory has been written into some monthly contest announcements but it should apply to every contest. Usually this will mean that you took the photo entered in the contest. At the time you enter a photo it's only fair to the other entrants to say if you didn't take the picture but that you own the rights.

An AS must have big red numbers to fill the empty space above the logo script. We picked up the numbers and a membership packet in Jackson Center at the National office. It was very meaningful to meet the wonderful people who keep things rolling along and an honor to have them handle the membership in person. It took almost a year to develop the nerve to attempt installation of the numbers. A mistake was just not acceptable, so lots of planning was needed .... and some adult beverage lubrication as well. Because of the delay, the final completion was an important day. Uniquely significant and satisfying.
However, the actual number is the most important element of the upgrade as it represents retirement day.
We would like to send a special "Thank You" to all the WBCCI members who contributed their time and support to the flood victims during last year's International.
Hope to meet you all down the road. Pat

Very nice, you guys are very lucky. I wish that I did the same thing instead buying new, it said something about who you are when you put your own stamp on it.

Painted the interior of our door a bright cheery yellow. A very small fix for a door that was previously clean but dingy and discolored.

I'm thinking that everyone's out and about enjoying their Airstreams since postings dropped off. Just a couple more days to post.

Good morning and welcome to July 1st 2017. Thanks to everyone who submitted photos and also to those who stopped by to view the entries. After much deliberation and discussion, and with the wife's input, it was a tough decision between BambiCamp and and InsideOut's submissions.
Without further delay, congratulations to InsideOut for their warm, inviting, and charming interior.
Please let us know what the July topic will be, again Congratulations!
As always, the photo contest guidelines are in a Sticky topic at the top of this Photography forum:

-- Warning -- possible rough patch ahead . . .
May I respectively suggest that the low number of photos submitted is because the theme duplicated other threads here, and promoted basically "interior decorating" photos which -- as photographs -- are essentially boring.
The threads for Small Space Living and What Did You Get For the Trailer are similar in content, but they are true to their stated purpose -- focusing on the trailers' interiors and the "stuff" we put in them.
Folks, this is a photography forum, not an interior decorating forum!
Some of the best monthly contests produced great visually interesting photographs -- as PHOTOGRAPHS standing alone without many words attached to them.
You know -- the kind of photo that elicits one basic response:
Wow!
The contest from last September for instance had great photos that showed Airstreams in quirky and whimsical locations. Great shots! [edit see PS]
Like visual "puns" without much explanation needed.
Could we aim for this kind of contest for July? A challenging one?
Thanks for listening, and sorry if I ruffled some feathers. The intent is simply to elevate the quality of this monthly contest to the "Wow" level of photography. The fewer words, the better IMO.
Have a great Fourth!
Peter

Some of my favorite shots to take involve juxtaposing my airstream with something larger than it should be: a dinosaur, Babe the Ox, a pistachio, "Pedro", a giant rocking chair... I've put some examples from my collection below.
For September, please show me shots where your airstream looks unusually small next to something bigger than it should be. The more whimsical, the better. Show me a roadside attraction so large (and maybe even gaudy) that you couldn't resist parking your Airstream next to it and taking a photo.
. . .
