Howdy from Portland, Oregon
Thought about how I could portray my hometown and the thing that comes to mind is GREEN!! It rains A LOT here - It is green all year round. Sometimes the rain gets to me and I think I'd like to move, but then we travel to other parts of the country and when we arrive back at home, I see my world through fresh eyes and appreciate the beauty, in all its mossy ways
The think I love most about where I live is the close proximity to many different regions and climates. We live 1.5 hours from the coast, 20 minutes from Mt. Hood and a short 3 hour drive to the high deserts of eastern Oregon. We have it all!
The first photo here is a view of the trees in our area...Douglas Firs and Western Red Cedar are most common.
The second photo shows how everything grows here...ferns grow right on top of rocks!
The last photo shows our Bambi on our first night home with it last summer...It was a rainy summer, but looking back on it now...sure was pretty!
Portland is a beautiful city!
(PS...might get downtown to try a photo...a bit scared of narrow roads and loads of traffic though!)
