The rock face above the front of your beautifully shiney Airstream looks like a T-Rex eating a rock.... OK, so I am well into Happy Hour😉...nice shot though!

Did someone say T-Rex?

This was taken on our way towards Pasadena in December (2014) for the Rose Parade rally.

Feeding wildlife while camping is ultimately harmful to the animals you want to be nice to. Human food is not good for wild animals. It also leads to loss of the natural fear of man resulting in animals foraging for food in residential areas. If that deer is lucky he will be trapped and relocated. First day of hunting season, good chance the deer in the photo will be a hunting trophy.

Hi FaN,

You've apparently fallen off the wagon! (In a spectacular fashion)

Best wishes,

Goo

My favorite Airstream moment? March 22nd 2014, the day I removed the final Goo from that saggy vinyl ceiling. Not a pretty picture, but it was my favorite moment.

I would agree with you that it's not a good idea to feed any supposedly wild animal, but surprised that you profess to know so much about deer, but don't know that deer is not a "he", but a she, a doe, and wouldn't be a trophy to any hunter. Meat, maybe if doe hunting is allowed, but not a trophy.

Deer and other wild animals become tame all the time when humans invade their territory, and they become accustomed to us being around. I can show you ten to fifteen of them that are in my yard daily, I do not feed them, but they have become accustomed to us and they are no longer afraid.

The thing is deer are genetically programmed to stay and live within a short distance of where they are born, and will not leave the area. They will stay in the area even in times of draught and even die from starvation before they will leave. To make them leave, they must be trapped and hauled off to another area.

OK, about those tame "in the park deer"

I have been selected, more than once, to hunt at state parks in Texas.

I arise before dawn to set out on the hunt, in the darkness just outside my trailer I see the glowing eyes of an animal, turn on a flash light and find a whole mess of deer had been sleeping no more than 50 yards from my trailer.

OK, thinking this is going to be a very successful hunt, I am driven to my blind by park staff. I spend the next 3 days not seeing anything where I can hunt, yet continue see deer daily by the trailer.

I think the deer know how to survive very well, thank you

Oh yeah? Well, when that deer jumps up on my picnic table and steals my bag of marshmallows, and I can't make s'mores, there will be hell to pay!!!

-Red, wondering if they have raccoons up north so this joke relates...
