worldinchaos, it's a Canadian thing. We're too polite to fling vulgarities at our elected officials. "You're full of poop-a-doop" (or poop -de -poop if you're from Quebec) is the accepted vernacular.

For a detailed explanation, may I refer you to a website entitled "I Love My Colon."

JDS, glad to "liven things up" for you, and am so relieved you "love" me.

However, I suspect the originator of this thread may think otherwise.

Many of the attendees at the Restoration Rally would vote for this guy. And for his famous tool, too. The left image is Kip turning his Airstream into an airplane.

one direction

Here's a photo of my daughter with her new One Direction poster (notice that they are standing by an Airstream trailer). One Direction is an English/Irish boy band. Since my daughter loves our Airstream and One Direction, the poster made a perfect Christmas gift.

Hi, just below me is the one and only Terry/ overlander63 with his dog Sophie. [over 17,000 posts on this forum] This happy group was on their way to the Balloon Fiesta, while Terry was going to an, unknown at this time, nightmare in California.

Can you imagine organizing a 100+ Airstream rally? Not to mention aiming for 150 Airstreams next year? Well, Ken Johansen, along with his merry band of energetic assistants (Suzanne, Uwe, the Polks, Lewster, others) make the magic happen. Here's Ken at the 2012 Balloon Fiesta--100 Airstream owners couldn't be happier that he's an Airstream Hero.

To second the motion of Ken J as all-around Airstream hero, I present the crowds at his Restoration Rallies, who come from far and wide for this very special event.

Resto-Renaissance man

I'll give my vote for celebrity status to Levon, a true Southern gentleman with a quick wit and a willingness to share his vast and varied knowledge at the annual restoration rally.

In these photos Levon is demonstrating the two most important tools for restoring a vintage Airstream. (One of these tools he actually made himself).

I don't think those photos are representative of Levon in the natural element, uhh perhaps the second.

Everytime I have met him he was a shade of gray from polishing wheel fuzz, rouge and tripoli and oxidized aluminum stuff.

These are the guys currently doing the work on my trailer - Colin Hyde (center), Reed, and Bob of Colin Hyde Trailer Restorations! Celebrities for sure and certainly my heroes! Although they require frequent bribing with cookies

January 2013 Photo Contest -- Airstream "Celebrities"

Greetings to Everyone!

All of the photos were great as were the tag lines. I knew that this thread was going to be difficult to judge as there are so many "Airstream Celebrities". In my opinion all of the photos were worthy of winning, but since I must name a winner, I have, after due deliberation, determined that:

Alumaholic (Ken L) -- Artie and Sue McDowell

is the winner with Honorable Mention going to:

C_Lewis 77 -- His Five-Year-Old Daughter
Vinstream -- Pee Wee
jimlawther -- Sean and Christy Michael

The choice was quite difficult!!

Congratulations to Alumaholic!!

Kevin
