Terry, nice pic. I've never been to Grand Canyon--I think I'm the only one that hasn't. Anyway, it's definitely on our Bucket List along with most of the other NPs here in the West.

I hope everyone enjoyed this months photos as much as I have. As I mentioned a few times during the month I expected picking the best photo out of this group to be very difficult. And it is....

But what to do when there are so many "Best" photos? Because I decided to have a variety of themes to create more interest for the first month of the new year, it has become somewhat of an embarrassment of riches for me. There are so many first place winners here and yet I can only pick one person to fire up the Febuary contest.

So.....I will post the winner in the early morning as I have not been able to settle on just one tonight. This is from the twenty one most excellent photos from the group culled from the larger thirty five best.

Stay tuned as the final votes are tabulated.

I would like to list some of my favorite photos to give extra credit to those participating in the January/2012 photo contest.

Since there are so many great entries I will break them down into the categories from the suggested themes.

Most of these photos could be winners for each theme and I wish now that I limited the variety. But now we know how many great photos Airstreamers are taking while out and about and I hope to see many of these will entered again and be selected as the winner for that month. They are all winners.

But I can select only one……

Congrats to Casa3805. The victory is well deserved. I am not a very emotional person, but seeing that picture for the first time honestly made me feel warm and fuzzy inside. I am not yet at a point of having children or even being married (although it is coming up quick...), but that picture right there was enough to make me imagine myself taking the picture, on the side of my own Airstream.

Very touching and fun photo! I look forward to the February theme. Some suggestions: National Gorilla Suit day was on January 31. So maybe some pictures of that? If there is only one person with a picture they win by default right?

OK I don't actually have that picture, but I do have the suit....

Yes, the monthly winner has the honor of starting a new thread with the theme of their choosing and then select the winner at the end of the month.

Wowza, Thanks so much for this honor! It was a fun contest Safari62. Great themes to work with. There were sooooo many good pics I don't know if I could have picked a winner.
But now the hard part, February's theme. I am torn, this is much easier when you are just posting a pic! I could go with something obvious, like Valentines, but I saw a thread called Sex in an Airstream and I don't know if pics are where we want to go...Super Bowl is this month, Daytona 500 is too, so a sports theme would work. It is the shortest month so I have to decide quickly....OMG the pressure.
I need a day to think on it. Sooo new theme tomorrow (although the gorilla suit thing) nah...

Congrats again to Safari 62 for an awesome contest, and congrats to all who posted. Gosh we have fun right?

Thanks again and good luck with this months contest. I like some of your ideas but be careful with the multiple theme suggestions. As you can see these Air travellers have a good eye and know their way around a camera. I was hoping for many great choices and that is just what I received.

It was hard to narrow the final choice down but your win is well deserved.

On the other hand, the sex and Airstreams theme could set a new post count record.

Off to buy a gorilla suit just in case....
